After the ugly confrontation earlier that day, the mere sight of Dante's face filled her with disgust and annoyance.

"What are you doing here?"

Her tone was ice-cold, making it painfully clear he wasn't welcome.

"Quinn," Dante lowered his voice, forcing a softer, more placating posture. "I need to talk to you."

Quinn stared at Dante. She had noticed it earlier in the day.

There were dark circles under his eyes, and his handsome face looked undeniably exhausted.

He was supposed to have been on a week-long vacation, but to anyone else, he looked like he'd been pulling consecutive all-nighters at the office!

It didn't take a genius for Quinn to deduce that he had likely been overexerting himself in other ways.

Suppressing her nausea, Quinn said coldly, "We have nothing to talk about."

Dante locked his dark eyes on her, a spark of anger and accusation flaring within them.

"Why did you move out of Belvedere Gardens and come here? Just because I didn't take you to the Maldives as promised?"

Quinn couldn't fathom his audacity. Confronting her about moving was bad enough, but bringing up the Maldives trip in front of her?

Unbelievable!

"Dante, I don't want to see you. Get out."

Dante furrowed his brow.

Over the last few days, a crisis had struck the overseas branch. He had been working non-stop, barely sleeping, and was thoroughly drained.

He thought he could come home to get a shred of comfort from Quinn.

Instead, he found that she had completely moved out.

He offered a rare explanation, "I didn't break our plans on purpose."

"If you still want a vacation, I can reschedule the trip."

Quinn wanted to cut him off and scream that they were already divorced, that they meant absolutely nothing to each other anymore.

The words burned on her tongue, but remembering what Mrs. Hayes had said on the phone today, she choked them back.

"It's about you trampling on my hard work and my dignity time and time again."

"Whenever I was wronged and needed you to back me up, you always told me to be the bigger person, while letting everyone else humiliate and degrade me."

"You crushed my heart with your bare hands, over and over again. You're the one who pushed us to this point."

Dante froze, a subtle panic rising in his chest.

But he quickly masked it with his usual composure.

"Pack your things and grab Leo. We're going back to Belvedere Gardens. I'll make it up to both of you from now on."

Dante stepped forward, reaching for her arm again, but a devastatingly strong grip clamped onto his wrist mid-air.

He jerked his head up, crashing into Raymond's pitch-black, menacing glare.

He hadn't even noticed the man approach. Raymond radiated a suffocating chill, his knuckles turning white as he squeezed Dante's wrist with enough force to shatter bone.

The second Dante saw Raymond, his suppressed rage finally exploded.

"You move out of my house, just to live under the same roof with this man?!"
