Did all employees eventually grow resentful if they stared at their bosses long enough?

Quinn decided she would give him a raise next month so he wouldn't quit.

After coaxing Leo to sleep, Quinn settled at the long table in her workspace.

She swiped through her tablet, tweaking the competition design drafts her assistant had sent over.

She meticulously refined the stitching, the fabric dye gradients, and the subtle jacquard details along the collar.

An hour later, she finally finalized and saved the files.

Stretching her arms, she massaged her aching shoulders.

Right then, Tara Moore called.

As soon as Quinn answered, Tara's excited voice rang through the speaker.

"Quinn! Remember how we missed Lillian Quincy at her company last time?"

"Well, your best friend has been keeping tabs on her."

"Tomorrow is the perfect opportunity to run into her!"

Quinn's eyes lit up. "What opportunity?"

"There's an exclusive charity auction tomorrow. Her husband is bringing her along."

"It's a public event, so we can just show up and bump into her naturally. It's way more reliable than staking out her office, and we won't look like stalkers."

"Perfect," Quinn agreed with a smile. "I'll be there."

Meanwhile, Dante Hayes returned to his Belvedere Gardens estate.

He threw himself onto the sofa, frustrated, and yanked open the top two buttons of his shirt.

Ever since leaving Lunas Crest, a heavy weight had settled in his chest.

Quinn's absolute coldness and Leo's distance left him feeling utterly helpless.

He had navigated countless corporate storms with calm precision, coming out on top every time.

Yet he couldn't figure out how to handle one woman.

After sitting in the dark for what felt like hours, he dialed his assistant's number.

It was nearing midnight. Silas Vance picked up, assuming there was a company emergency, and scrambled to pull on a shirt.

Seeing the empty seat next to Dante, she walked over, her eyes curving into a sweet smile, her tone soft and intimate.

"Dante, do you mind if I sit here?"

Dante glanced up at her and gave a curt nod. "Go ahead."

Vivienne took her seat with a triumphant smile, glancing around to soak in the envious stares of the women nearby.

Being close to Dante always guaranteed her the spotlight in high society.

As usual, she felt vastly superior to every other woman in the room.

But her pride was short-lived.

At the entrance, two stunning figures walked in side by side.

They were radiant and breathtaking.

They instantly captivated the entire hall.

Even Dante turned his gaze toward them.
