The style and the cut felt overwhelmingly familiar to her.
She had a vague memory of seeing a similar dress sketched out in her mother's old design journals.
She started digging through the stacks of blueprints her mother had left behind, but there were simply too many. She flipped through page after page for what felt like hours, turning up nothing.
Was it just a coincidence?
Exhaustion finally caught up with her, and she decided to call it a night.
She needed to shower and sleep so she could be ready for work the next day.

Meanwhile, the following morning.
Lillian Quincy called her assistant into her office. "Have we received any new design submissions lately?"
Isabella nodded promptly. "We received another file from Ms. Ambrose in the inbox."
"Vivienne Ambrose?"
"Yes."
Lillian nodded slowly. "I'll review it shortly."
"Mr. Hayes has confirmed his investment in our company. It seems he and Ms. Ambrose are quite close."
Lillian frowned slightly at the implication, her tone turning stern. "You've worked for me long enough to know better. I judge people solely on their talent and ability. Capital always comes second."
"But Ms. Ambrose truly does possess remarkable talent and skill."
Isabella had always been highly appreciative of Vivienne's resume and past achievements.
This time, Lillian didn't respond, which Isabella took as a silent agreement.
Lillian spent some time reviewing the emails before asking seemingly out of nowhere.
"Did someone named Quinn Yates submit a portfolio?"
Isabella thought for a moment before digging through a stack of files and pulling out Quinn's submission.
As Lillian flipped through the designs, her eyes instantly lit up. The deeper she went into the portfolio, the more amazed she became.
It had been years since she had seen work this phenomenal.
What caught her attention the most was that several of the design elements perfectly mirrored the techniques Lillian herself favored.
Vivienne recognized her immediately—it was Lillian's assistant.
"Hello!"
Isabella recognized them as well and offered a polite greeting.
"Mr. Hayes, Ms. Ambrose."
Seizing the opportunity, Vivienne eagerly asked, "Excuse me, could you tell me if Ms. Quincy has had a chance to look at my designs?"
"She has," Isabella said with a smile. "You're very talented, Ms. Ambrose. Ms. Quincy thinks highly of you."
"Really?" Vivienne beamed with delight.
Dante couldn't help but interject. "Did Ms. Quincy happen to mention Quinn Yates?"
Recalling Lillian's reaction, Isabella shook her head. "Ms. Quincy reviewed Ms. Yates's work, but she wasn't particularly satisfied with it."
Dante's eyes darkened. It seemed Quinn's current design skills really were nothing to write home about.
Vivienne scoffed internally. She knew it. How could Quinn ever hope to compete with her?
