She Became His World by Turning Me Into the Villain novel Chapter 7

**Married by Mistake, Loved by Fate — by L. Winters**
**Chapter 7**

The last time I had crossed paths with Ethan, he had felt like nothing more than a fleeting shadow, a stranger whose presence barely registered on my emotional radar.

But now, the mere sight of him twisted my stomach into knots.

I didn’t bother to engage in any meaningless exchanges; instead, I raised my hand and struck him—not once, but twice, the sound of my palm meeting his cheek echoing in the stillness of the room.

There was a bitter amusement in my heart as I recalled how, when Summer had spun her web of lies about me, he had been quick to dismiss my truth. He had chosen her side, standing against me as if I were the villain in our shared story.

Yet here we were, with their wedding looming just on the horizon, and now he wore a mask of heartbreak, as if my pain somehow pierced his own heart.

I rubbed my wrist, feeling the sting of my own impulsive actions, and said, “You two had better make it last. If you even think about getting divorced, I swear I will find it utterly hilarious.”

I had not sold the painting that had consumed my thoughts, nor could I continue pouring my energy into the wedding designs that now felt like a distant memory. So, I decided to grant myself a reprieve, a moment to breathe without the weight of the world pressing down on my shoulders.

The day outside was deceptively beautiful, with the sun shining brightly and a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. I selected a bouquet of pristine white lilies, their petals still glistening with the morning dew, and made my way to the hospital.
