Chapter 135
“Wait!” Jessica’s expression sharpened. She stared at Dominic for several seconds before asking, “You’re not going to grope me, are you?”
Dominic’s face twitched. “You’re overthinking it.”
“Hmph. I don’t believe you. Can you even ride a motorcycle?”
“Yes,” Dominic said calmly.
Jessica got off the bike. “Then you ride.”
Dominic did not hesitate. He swung onto the bike, twisted the throttle lightly, and the engine answered with a deep roar that immediately drew envious glances.
A motorcycle worth tens of thousands of dollars was not something an ordinary family could afford.
“Wow, pretty slick,” Jessica said.
She climbed on behind him, gripping the bike while carefully avoiding any physical contact with his back.
“Where to?” Dominic asked.
“Typhoon Road,” Jessica replied.
Dominic nodded and started the bike.
The engine roared as they surged forward at speed. Dominic wore no helmet, and the fierce wind lashed his face.
Strangely, a long–forgotten exhilaration flooded him. At this pace, emotions he had suppressed for years seemed to burst free all at once.
When they reached the overpass, Dominic fixed his gaze ahead. His only thought was to go faster and then faster still.
The speed climbed relentlessly.
He loved the thrill.
“Woohoo! This feels amazing! You’re incredible, bro!” Jessica shouted at first, but her voice soon vanished into the wind.
The speed was too high.
Racing was exhilarating, but life mattered more.
She watched Dominic lower his body, like a knight charging across a battlefield, slicing cleanly through traffic with effortless control. Fear tightened her chest, mixed with shock.
Even her famously big heart could not handle it. Her voice shook as she said, “Y–You… slow down a little.”
Losing a driving license meant nothing. At this speed, the slightest mishap would mean death
Dominic said nothing. His eyes remained calm, yet something unhinged lurked beneath the surface. It had never truly erupted, only hidden deep within his mind.
“Shit, you’re insane!”
He still did not slow down. If anything, the speed increased.
Jessica could take no more. She leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his waist, desperate for a scrap of security.
The wind howled past their ears.

Dominic noticed her grip. He frowned slightly and eased off the throttle.
Once they left the overpass, Jessica’s legs trembled. “Stop for a moment.”
Dominic pulled over. Jessica climbed off, her knees weak.
After a while, she stared at him in disbelief. “What did you used to do?”
Dominic met her gaze, unruffled. “Housework. Taking care of my kid.”
