Isabella was so furious that her words came out jumbled and incoherent.
Dominic lifted his eyes and gave her a calm glance. He then said to Jessica, “This is my home. She does not have the right to make you leave.”
Hearing those all–too–familiar words, Isabella froze, as though her mind had gone blank.
She remembered now. These were the exact words she herself had spoken back in a past argument. Now they were being returned to her in full, not a single word changed.
It was impossible to describe how she felt at that moment.
She fell silent for a long time before forcing a smile that looked worse than tears. She walked up to Dominic and spoke in a trembling voice. “Honey, do not treat me like this, okay? It hurts so much. I feel awful…”
Jessica frowned and muttered softly, “You brought this on yourself.”
Dominic replied calmly, “I was once like you. I was miserable and in pain. But I am fine now. The past is over.”
“No. It cannot be over.” Isabella kept shaking her head as tears fell one after another, like beads spilling from a snapped string.
Dominic let out a soft sigh and stood up. “Have you eaten? If not, I will make something.”
The politeness in his tone sent Isabella into a panic.
At that moment, she felt that even scolding or blame would have been far better than this distance disguised as courtesy.
“Honey!” Isabella finally broke down. She rushed forward, wrapped her arms around him, and sobbed uncontrollably.
Jessica watched the scene with growing irritation.
What was this woman trying to do? This was far too much. Hugging him without even asking whether Dominic wanted it.
‘Hmph. What a terrible woman.‘
Yet she forgot that when she climbed into his bed herself, she had not asked Dominic what he wanted either.
People really were all hypocrites.
Dominic pushed Isabella away and spoke quietly. “The hearing is tomorrow. Let us leave each other some dignity. I am going to cook. If you want to eat, you can stay for a while. If not, you can leave.”
With that, he walked into the kitchen.
Isabella stared at his retreating back and wiped her tears, regret flooding her eyes.
Jessica’s mood lifted instantly. She smiled smugly and said, “Hehe, some people should accept reality already. Do not worry, I will take good care of Dominic.”
Those words had once been spoken by Autumn as well.
Isabella did not collapse on the spot. She wiped her tears, ignored Jessica, and rushed into Dominic’s bedroom
After carefully checking everything, she finally let out a quiet sigh of relief.
She then came out, wandered through the house, found Jessica’s guest room, and went inside.
Jessica stared at her in shock and said Irritably, “Hey, woman. Who said you could go into my room?”
Isabella stepped back out and sneered, “Who are you pretending for? Do not think I do not know you forced your way in here. I

advise you to stay away from my husband.”
Jessica shot her a glare and snorted. “I will not. I like Dominic, and I am going to marry him.”
This young woman really had no filter. Isabella seethed inwardly and said coldly, “You and he are not a match. Just in terms of age, he is ten years older than you.”
