Chapter 163
“All right. It’s good that you cried it out.” Katherine could offer only comfort.
Isabella lifted her head, tears still clinging to her lashes. “Sis, you have to help me this time.”
Katherine froze. “Help you with what?”
Isabella wiped her tears and spoke with grave seriousness. “There’s a woman living at Dom’s place. She has bad intentions toward him, and her motives are rotten. When you have time, you need to go observe her and make sure she doesn’t succeed.” Katherine stared at her in disbelief. “You want me to harass Dominic?”
“What do you mean, harass?” Isabella shot her an annoyed look. “You and I both take care of Lily, and Dom cooks really well When the time comes, whether we go together or you go alone, getting a free meal shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
Understanding dawned on Katherine, and she was at a loss for words. In the end, she asked, “So you’re afraid he’ll kick you out if you go alone, and you’re dragging me into this?”
Isabella nodded, looking dejected. “I’m definitely going to win my husband back. There’s just a small hurdle right now, so I need your help.”
Katherine wanted to laugh, but Isabella looked too humble for that.
She said, “Fine. Dominic’s cooking is top–notch anyway, so freeloading a meal isn’t exactly a sacrifice.”
On the other side, Dominic went straight back to Luxe Residence.
Jessica had been waiting for a long time. The moment he walked in, she asked impatiently, “Hey, Dominic. How did it go? Was it settled?”
Dominic nodded. “It’s settled.”
“Yay!” Jessica cheered and patted her chest as she laughed loudly. “With me stepping in, I told you it was a guaranteed divorce!”
Dominic felt his vision wobble. He could not bear to look any longer and shifted his gaze away.
“I owe you a favor for this,” he said.
James had shown up in court. The judge could not have failed to recognize him, yet still issued that ruling. Someone powerful had clearly applied pressure, most likely at an official level. This was not something an ordinary person could accomplish.
Jessica’s eyes lit up. “What do you mean, one favor? I want to split it into two.”
Dominic paused. “You can split a favor?”
“Hehe!” Jessica smiled mysteriously, stepped closer, and stretched out her slender, smooth fingers to trace circles on his chest. She spoke in a teasing tone. “Split the favor. I want you, and I also want your affection. Will you give them to me, Dominic?”
Dominic could not take it. He retreated half a step, widening the distance between himself and the little pervert. He cleared his throat. “Be serious. I’m talking to you, so stop messing around. What you did wasn’t easy, and you pulled a lot of strings. It’s only right that I owe you a favor. But a favor is a favor. You can’t split it like that.”
Jessica sighed dramatically. “Sigh. Dominic, you have no idea what a huge price I paid. I sold my time, my energy, my saliva, my phone bill–”
