Ezra Sanchez glanced at the coffin in the hall, then fixed his gaze on Dominic. “What’s going on here?”
He had been here yesterday. Today, he was still at the station, reviewing surveillance footage from every angle in search of clues about David’s killer.
Just moments ago, however, he had received a report claiming the murderer had been found, so he rushed over without delay.
“I was the one who called the police,” Dominic said.
Mandy froze.
Ezra’s expression hardened. His hand moved to his waist. “Go on. Speak.”
The officers beside him went on alert, hands settling quietly on their guns as they tracked every movement in the room.
This was a homicide. There could be no mistakes.
“There was a murder here,” Dominic said evenly. “And I have a crucial lead.”
Ezra’s eyes brightened with urgency. “Go on.”
“I have a general idea of where the body is,” Dominic continued. “I’ll need your help-”
“Nonsense!” Mandy shouted. “My husband’s body is right here. What kind of superstition are you trying to pull?”
“Don’t interrupt me.” Dominic swept her with a cold glance before continuing. “I wasn’t clear enough. I’m saying there wasn’t just one murder here. I’m referring to another horrific case from three months ago.”
Mandy’s face drained of color.
Dominic smiled faintly. “Miss, I think you understand what I mean. Don’t you?”
Her entire body trembled.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said, her voice shaking.
The officers noticed immediately. Something was wrong
A flash of excitement crossed Ezra’s eyes. He gestured to his men. “Continue. What evidence do you have? We’ll cooperate fully.”
At his signal, several officers spread out through the house. Their attention subtly converged on Mandy, sealing off any route of
escape.
Dominic nodded and began running his hands along the walls.
The interior décor was elegant. Expensive wallpaper covered every surface.
He took a fruit knife, sliced into the wallpaper, and searched methodically beneath it.
Once the wallpaper tore away, white putty appeared. After a careful inspection, Dominic spotted a section that differed slightly from the rest. His pupils tightened. “Here. This spot needs to be broken open.”
Mandy’s eyes flew open. Her body shook violently, and she collapsed into a chair.
She no longer had the strength to stand.
Ezra stepped forward and pressed his hand against the wall. His expression sharpened at once. “This was rebuilt recently. And David’s son went missing three months ago. Are you saying…”
Dominic nodded. “Unless something unforeseen happened, he’s here.”

Ezra’s face turned grim. After a brief silence, he ordered his men to retrieve the necessary equipment.
Less than five minutes later, an officer returned with tools.
When the power was connected, the wall began to give way amid a low buzzing sound.
A moment later, a rotten, suffocating stench poured out from inside the wall. Faces around the room shifted in horror.
As stark white bones came into view, Ezra raised a hand. “That’s enough.”
Understanding dawned instantly.
An elderly man staggered forward, wailing in anguish. “My grandson! My grandson!”
Mandy seemed to regain her senses. She rushed to the wall, crying out, “Clement, is it you? Clement…”
Sobs filled the house.
Ezra fixed Mandy with an icy stare.
Dominic stepped forward, rested a hand on her shoulder, and said quietly, “That’s enough. Stop pretending. It’s time to confess.
