When Isabella saw Dominic, she finally lost control. Tears burst from her eyes as she rushed forward. “Honey, I miss you!”

The sight of her only filled Dominic with disgust. She had just gone off to rescue her precious sworn brother, and now she stood here crying. What was she trying to prove?

He said coldly, “If you want to cry, go back and cry there. Don’t come here and annoy me.”

“Honey, scold me. Scold me harder, or even hit me if you want…” Isabella sobbed as she grabbed Dominic’s hand and tried to swing it toward her own face.

Dominic had no idea what she was doing. He pulled his hand back and said impatiently, “If you have something to say, say it. If you have garbage to spew, spit it out. If not, I’m closing the door.”

“What are you doing?” he snapped.

At her words, realization struck Dominic.

“To put it simply, you didn’t trust me,” Dominic cut in. “Put yourself in my place. If you had been the one hurt back then, and you believed someone did it, I would have avenged you without hesitation. I would rather kill the wrong person than let a single

one go. Not for any reason except that you were my wife.”

Isabella’s face turned ashen, and she looked as though she might collapse at any moment.

Dominic shook his head. “So you went to the police station to get him out. Was that your idea of revenge? To avenge me?”

“How did you know?” she blurted instinctively.

His brows relaxed slightly. At least this motive eased some of his anger. He took out his phone, opened the message Alexander
