Isabella took out her phone and began searching.

Jessica leaned closer and stared at the phone in silence, lost in thought.

Dominic did not look at them as he ate. When he finished, he said, “Don’t move the dishes. There’s no need to wash them.”

With that, he picked up his phone and left the house.

“Honey!” Isabella did not even touch her breakfast. She jumped up at once and hurried after him.

Jessica’s eyes flicked sharply. She grabbed Isabella’s arm and said, “Ex–wife, you haven’t even finished eating. Don’t waste food. Dominic put effort into making this.”

Isabella snapped, “Let go!”

“There you go again, getting angry,” Jessica said with a grin. “Women age faster when they’re angry. Then again, for someone like you, old, weak, gray–haired, and almost 40, it probably doesn’t matter…”

She tightened her grip and kept provoking her.

Isabella burned with rage and shot back, “You little brat, you don’t know a thing!”

Jessica tilted her head, looking confused. “Little what? What little?”

Isabella’s mouth twitched. She wrenched herself free and rushed out, trying to catch up with Dominic.

By then, he had already taken the elevator down. She could only turn back, dispirited.

Then Jessica, that little devil, locked the door.

Isabella nearly lost her mind. She pounded on it. “Jessica, open the door! You’d better open it right now!”

Jessica’s muffled voice came from inside. “Why open it? Aren’t you going to work?”

“I… I haven’t even finished my breakfast!”

Isabella felt on the verge of collapse. Her words tumbled out in a jumble.

“Take a few steps back,” Jessica said from inside.

Isabella swallowed her anger and stepped back in silence. She planned to rush in and teach Jessica a lesson the moment the door opened.
