Chapter 191
Dominic nodded with practiced sincerity. “Of course.”
For the sake of 140,000 dollars, whatever she said was right.
*All right. You may go.” Jewel dismissed him with a cold wave of her hand.
As Dominic turned to leave, he caught Autumn mouthing *see you later* in his direction.
He smiled and nodded in response.
Jewel noticed. Her expression darkened further.
After Dominic left, Autumn stepped behind Jewel’s chair and began to massage her shoulders.
She smiled as she spoke. “Hey, Aunt Jewel. Walking around with a stiff face all day really isn’t good for you.”
Jewel snorted. “What is your relationship with him?”
Autumn blinked. “What relationship? There isn’t one at all. We’re just ordinary friends. Don’t overthink it.”
Jewel sneered, unconvinced. As if I’d believe that.
“You’d better know your limits,” she said. “He’s already old, freshly divorced, and he even has a child. If my sister finds out-
“Aunt Jewel!” Autumn cut in quickly, her tone turning awkward. “Please don’t tell my mom about this. Not yet.”
Jewel turned her chair and fixed her with a sharp look. “Then behave yourself. Some time ago, you had so many people investigating that car accident in the area. Do you really think your parents wouldn’t notice?”
Autumn hesitated. “He’s a friend, after all. I’m just helping him a little. There’s nothing wrong with that, right?”
“Heh! He needs your help?” Jewel scoffed. “The Sinclairs from Eastmere State have already sent people. Sooner or later, they’ll find that family and get the footage.”
She clearly did not believe a word of Autumn’s explanation.
Autumn shook her head. “How many people could the Sinclairs have sent, anyway?”
The Sinclair base was in Eastmere. If they wanted results in Skyline City, their reach would never match that of the Garcias.
Jewel sighed. “If this were just a favor between friends, it wouldn’t matter. But you already have the video, and you didn’t give it to him directly. Do you know what that kind of behind–the–scenes favor becomes?”
Autumn asked without thinking, “What does it become?”
Jewel snorted and delivered her verdict in two words. “A simp.”
Autumn immediately looked uncomfortable. “Aunt Jewel, you’re exaggerating.”
Seeing that Jewel was about to continue, she rushed to change the subject. “Enough about me. What about you? You’re almost 35 already. Aren’t you planning to find me an uncle? I heard the Grant heir in Skyline City has been getting quite close to you. Not interested?”
The Grants had deep roots in Skyline City. Their wealth could not compare to the Garcias, but their reputation was solid and their connections formidable.
“Zachary?” Jewel sighed softly. “He’s too young. Not my type.”
Autumn waggled her eyebrows. “What era are we living in? That doesn’t matter at all. And my dad is preparing a collaboration with the Grants. If there’s mutual interest, it will be a good match.”

Jewel snorted, “Would you date him, then?”
