Chapter 195
Dominic agreed emphatically. “That’s the only possibility!”
Ezra’s gaze locked onto Dominic’s expression. “But after that car plunged off the cliff, you were the only witness. Did you notice anything unusual?”
Dominic froze for a moment, then spoke in alarm. “Captain Sanchez, you’re not suspecting me, are you?”
Ezra smiled. “There’s no need to be nervous. I’m just asking. That area doesn’t have many residents, and you’re the only witness, so this is routine questioning.”
Dominic smiled bitterly. “Last night, I was driving out to the countryside to see a friend. I had something to take care of. When I reached that area, I heard an explosion on the highway, and then a burning car rolled down the cliff. I had an ax in my car, so I went over to see if I could help.”
He paused before continuing, “After I got there, I realized the people in the car were beyond saving. I was about to call the police when a patrol car arrived.”
Ezra’s eyes sharpened. “You said you were heading to the countryside to see a friend. Then why did you drive straight back to Skyline City afterward?”
Fear flickered in Dominic’s eyes. “When I saw those two people, I panicked. I couldn’t bring myself to visit my friend anymore. I just wanted to go home.”
Ezra nodded and let out a quiet sigh. “Dominic, I’m sorry for pulling you into this. The case is too bizarre, and Skywest City hasn’t found any leads.”
Dominic nodded in understanding. “Yeah. The key is finding that driver.”
“Exactly.” Ezra took out a pack of cigarettes, drew one out, and offered it to Dominic. “Want one?”
“Thanks.” Dominic accepted it without hesitation, lit it, and smiled. “You’re a captain. Don’t you smoke something better?”
Ezra smiled back. “You can’t really say that around here.”
The tension eased at once.
After they finished the cigarette, Ezra asked a few more routine questions and then let Dominic go.
On his way out, Dominic noticed a group of people in the lobby.
More precisely, several bodyguards in black surrounded a single man.
The man had a powerful build and gray–white hair. His face was expressionless, yet his cheeks carried an inexplicable trace of ferocity.
Ezra raised his eyebrows and walked over. “Mr. Grant, there’s really no need to wait here all the time. If the driver is caught, there will be an official notice.”
The man’s gaze remained calm as he glanced at Dominic. “Who is he?”
Ezra shook his head with a smile. “An unrelated individual.”
He then nudged Dominic. “Alright, you can go. I have something to take care of, so I won’t see you out.”
Dominic nodded, cast one last glance at the man, and left the bureau.
After getting back into his car, he did not drive off right away. A thoughtful look crossed his face.
This Mr. Grant was clearly investigating the truth behind the deaths of Alexander and his mother.

Even Ezra treated him with such courtesy, which meant his identity was anything but ordinary, Combined with recen deductions, he was most likely that man from the Grants of Skyline City,
Dominic smiled coldly. “Things are getting more and more interesting
He then started the car and drove off. Instead of returning to the office, he went to look for Tom. He had promised to take him to see Leona and the child that day. He would not break his word.
Meanwhile, at Lydia’s law firm…
Zachary leaned against the wall, closed his eyes, and said, “You’re saying you helped Dominic handle his divorce case and even won?”
Lydia squatted on the floor and stammered, “Y–Yes. The Sinclairs from Eastmere State don’t seem so superior now,”
Zachary let out a long breath and sneered, “Looks like both Sinclair sisters are single.”
