Autumn swallowed hard and blurted, “Actually, there’s a public restroom on the ground floor.”

Jessica’s expression darkened. “What public restroom? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Only then did Autumn notice her embarrassment. He chuckled and walked over, asking with curiosity, “Jessica, what are you doing here?”

Jessica pointed at the closed door, teeth clenched. “I’m going home. What else would I be doing?”

“Going home?” Autumn’s smile stiffened. “Isn’t this… Dominic’s place? What home are you talking about?”

Jessica replied matter–of–factly, “Dominic’s home is my home. We’ve been living together for a while. Anyway, now that he’s divorced, it’s only natural–”

“Are you talking nonsense?”

The door suddenly flew open.

Isabella had finally had enough and stormed out, anger written all over her face.

Autumn froze. “Isabella? You’re here too?”

Isabella shot him a cold glare. “My husband lives here. I go wherever he goes. What’s wrong with that?”

Autumn felt his head spin. What the hell had happened while he was gone? Hadn’t Dominic already divorced Isabella? And what was Jessica doing, boldly claiming she lived here too?

Dominic was in the kitchen. At first, he did not take the argument between Isabella and Jessica seriously. As long as they did not come to blows, it was manageable. But when he caught a hint of Autumn’s voice, his composure shattered. He grabbed a spatula and stepped out of the kitchen.

Sure enough, Autumn stood there.

Dominic smiled. “Autumn, what brings you here?”

Autumn nodded quickly. “What… is going on?”

Dominic let out a sigh. “It’s a long story.”

“What long story?” Jessica strode inside and thrust the plate into Dominic’s hand. She shot Isabella an angry look. “Ex–wife, I’m telling you, this isn’t over.”

Isabella did not flinch. She sneered. “And what do you think you can do to me?”

Jessica’s pupils contracted as she glared back. “I’ll kick you out sooner or later!”

Isabella swept her gaze over Jessica and Autumn with calm disdain. “None of you seem to know what you want. You keep chasing a married man, one who even has a child. If that’s your taste, try dating other divorcees.”

Autumn had been slow to catch on, but now the meaning was clear. She did not hold back. Her expression sharpened as she went on the offensive. “Sounds like I should call the courthouse and have the divorce certificate sent over, so someone can stop fooling themselves.”

Jessica’s breath hitched. The strike was devastating, exactly what one would expect from Autumn.

Isabella’s expression changed. Autumn’s words had clearly caught her off guard.

She furiously jabbed a finger toward Autumn. “What, did you smear poison on your tongue?”
