Chapter 222
Because Lilith was at home, Isabella and Jessica did not argue much. The two of them actually got along fairly well. Jessica also avoided doing anything that made Dominic’s eyes widen in shock.
As a result, the next few days passed in calmness.
Lilith seemed to have developed a bit of trauma toward Katherine. For several days, she did not ask to visit her house.
That day, Dominic got off work at noon and went to the hillside house to pick up Autumn.
They had been in frequent contact recently and occasionally went out to eat together.
The situation felt a little strange to Dominic. He felt comfortable and at ease around Autumn, and she felt the same way.
“What do you want to eat today, Dominic?” Autumn asked.
Dominic thought for a moment. “Let’s go to Epicurean Lane,”
It was not a single restaurant but a famous food street in Skyline City, with more than 100 eateries.
Autumn nodded. “Sure.”
After they arrived, they realized the decision had been a bit hasty. There were simply too many people.
Dominic had no choice but to park in the underground garage and walk out. He glanced at his watch. “We’re probably going to be late this afternoon.”
Autumn teased, “You’re in sales. It’s reasonable for you to visit clients, right?”
They walked side by side along the street, chatting and sampling whatever looked appealing.
“Someone’s stealing!” A sudden shriek cut through the noise and drew everyone’s attention.
A furious woman pointed at a thin man. “It’s him. He’s stealing!”
The man’s expression changed. “What nonsense are you talking about? Don’t bother me.”
He turned and started to walk away.
The woman’s face went pale with rage. “Everyone, catch him. This man is a thief!”
Almost no one moved. In a situation like this, without clear evidence and with no personal stake, most people chose not to get involved.
By coincidence, the man headed straight toward Dominic.
Just as he was about to pass, Dominic reached out and grabbed his arm.
The man’s eyes flashed with anger. “What the hell are you doing? Let go.”
He twisted hard, trying to shake Dominic off.
Dominic’s grip held firm, like a steady, unmoving clamp.
The man’s eyes widened. “You…”
Dominic did not waste words. He yanked open the man’s coat, and a pile of items spilled out. Jewelry, a phone, and other belongings scattered onto the ground.
Dominic smiled coldly. “Who wears a jacket in this weather?”

The man clenched his teeth. “I just carry a lot of stuff when I go out, okay?”
“Oh?” Dominic pointed at a phone with a pink case on the ground and laughed. “So this phone is yours?”
Laughter rippled through the surrounding, crowd.
Realizing he had been exposed, the man panicked. He reached into his pocket with his right hand, pulled out a small dagger, and slashed toward Dominic.
Gasps rose from all around.
