Chapter 221
Dominic’s heart skipped a beat. He set Lilith down and headed for the kitchen. “Okay, okay. I’ll cook right now. What do you want to eat?”
But the moment he stepped inside, he froze. “Where’s the pan?”
“I threw it away,” Katherine said coolly.
Dominic was stunned. “Then how am I supposed to cook?”
“Heh.” Katherine smiled without warmth. “No need to trouble yourself. I already ordered takeout.”
At a loss and feeling played, Dominic picked Lilith up again. “Alright. I’ll head out now. Call me if you need anything.”
Then he left Katherine’s house.
Once the door closed behind him, Katherine’s lips curved into a breathtaking, captivating smile.
“Your aunt is definitely crazy,” Dominic muttered once they were in the car.
Lilith’s small face tightened as she nodded vigorously. “Daddy, you’re right! She hit my butt so hard yesterday. It’s all swollen!”
Dominic raised an eyebrow. “Huh? That happened too?”
The girl pouted. “It’s true! Daddy, can you get revenge for me? Hit Auntie’s butt so it swells too!”
“Ahem!” Dominic nearly choked. He chose not to respond and started the car instead.
Soon, they arrived at Luxe Residence.
The moment they stepped inside, Jessica shouted with excitement, “Lily!”
Lilith’s eyes lit up. “Jessica!”
The two friends had not seen each other for days, and both had missed the other terribly. Jessica scooped her up at once.
Lilith soon protested, “Ouch, Jessica! You’re squeezing too hard. I can’t breathe!”
Jessica realized what she was doing.
“Oh, sorry,” she said, loosening her grip.
Dominic glanced their way but did not linger. He headed for the bathroom. “You two rest for a bit. I’ll cook later.”
“Okay,” Jessica replied as she set Lilith down on the sofa.
Lilith looked around and asked with curiosity, “Hey, where’s Mommy?”
“The ex–wife hasn’t gotten off work yet!” Jessica said casually.
Lilith blinked in confusion. “What do you mean, ‘ex–wife‘?”
Jessica cleared her throat. “Nothing. Watch some TV. Tell Mommy what you want to watch later.”
Lilith shot her a glare. “You’re Jessica. My mommy is Isabella!”
“Oh, I’ll be your mommy eventually,” Jessica said with a wave of her hand. “I’m just letting you get used to it early so it won’t feel weird later. It’s for your own good!”
“Hmph. I’m not talking to you anymore!”

They had made up only minutes earlier and already stood on the brink of another argument.
That evening, Dominic finished cooking.
A knock sounded at the door.
Lilith’s eyes brightened. She ran over and opened it. As expected, Isabella stood outside.
“Mommy!” she cried happily.
Isabella lifted her up and pressed a warm kiss to her cheek. “Daddy brought you home today!”
“Yes,” Jessica said, a hint of envy in her voice. “Someone has perfect timing. Dinner just happens to be ready.”
Isabella frowned. “What are you implying?”
Dominic walked over and spoke lightly. “Alright. Let’s eat.”

Meanwhile, at Riverside Residence, a scruffy man lingered near the entrance.
The security guard cast him a suspicious look. “Hey, what are you doing here? Do you need something?”
The man gave an awkward smile. “I–I’m just… looking.”
Then he turned and walked away.
At a nearby motel, he pulled out his phone and opened a photo.
The image showed Katherine, radiant and beautiful, smiling as she opened a package.
The man’s foolish grin twisted into something intense. He stared at the screen for a long time, then stuck out his tongue and
licked it.
“Katie… my baby… come out… I–I’m waiting for you…”
Katherine’s online handle was “Katie is Hungry,” and her fans called her Katie.
The package showed no floor or apartment number. The man planned to wait nearby and watch for an opportunity.
