Dominic looked anxious. As long as the road was clear, he sped straight through intersections, even when the light was red.

At the same time, he pulled out his phone and called Isabella.

When Isabella saw his name on the screen, her eyes lit up. She answered happily, “Honey-

Isabella froze. “What?”

Isabella did not dare delay. She rattled off the door lock password as fast as she could.

Dominic ended the call and fixed his attention on the road. All he could think about was driving faster.

Inside Katherine’s apartment, the cabinet was crammed with small clothes in every color. A faint, tempting scent lingered in the

air.

The man felt a rush of excitement. He inhaled deeply, completely intoxicated.

He did not find Katherine. Regret flickered through him, and he turned away to search elsewhere.

He failed to notice the large drawer at the bottom of the cabinet.

At that moment, Katherine lay curled inside that drawer. Her body shook uncontrollably, and she did not dare make a sound.

Regret crushed her.

Why had she not listened to Dominic and arranged for someone to protect her nearby? She had never imagined that such a perverted man could truly exist.

In the pitch–black, cramped space, every second stretched into an eternity. Tears streamed down Katherine’s face without restraint.

Soon, the doorbell rang. “Your delivery’s here.”

Katherine peered through the peephole and saw a man in a delivery uniform outside. He wore an innocent smile.

She thought nothing of it and opened the door.

When the man took in Katherine’s flawless appearance, obsession replaced the innocence in his eyes. He did not immediately hand over the delivery.

Alarm bells rang in Katherine’s head. She slammed the door with all her strength.
