Isabella had just stepped outside.

“Ah!” Jessica rubbed her head where it had collided with something, her expression annoyed.

Isabella froze for a moment, then asked coldly, “Were you eavesdropping?”

Jessica rolled her eyes, said nothing, and turned to leave.

“Stop right there!” Isabella hurried after her and grabbed her in the living room.

Jessica snorted. “Why are you grabbing me, ex–wife?”

Isabella’s voice stayed icy. “What did you overhear?”

Jessica glanced around and answered casually, “Nothing at all.”

In truth, she had been eavesdropping. She had planned to rush in and stop Dominic if he lost control. Only… it sounded like she had just overheard something enormous.

Isabella stared at her for a long moment, then turned as if to leave.

Instead, Jessica caught her arm and whispered with exaggerated mystery, “Hey, ex–wife. Who’s the person living in your heart? Tell me. I absolutely won’t tell Dominic.”

Isabella shoved her away and replied slowly and clearly, “The person in my heart is my husband.”

“I get it, I get it!” Jessica giggled mischievously. “Dominic lives in your heart, but… there are just a few neighbors too, hehe!”

“You…” Isabella’s eyes reddened with anger. After a brief pause, she shouted, “What did you say? Say it again and see what happens!”

Jessica planted her hands on her hips, completely unafraid. “Alright, I’ll say it again then…”

At that moment, Katherine stepped out of the room, yawning. “What’s all the shouting about?”

Isabella thought for a moment, then stopped paying attention to Jessica. She pulled Katherine aside and asked anxiously,” Kathy, did you… tell my husband about that thing?”

Katherine looked startled. “What thing?”

“About that person!”

Katherine looked even more surprised. “Why would I say that? Could it be… Dominic already knows?”

Isabella nodded, her expression gloomy. “I don’t know how much he knows, but… he probably sensed something.”

“Then you should just confess. There’s nothing you can’t say,” Katherine replied lightly.

“I can’t!” Isabella panicked at once. “I didn’t mention him when we got married. If I confess now… he’ll definitely misunderstand, and I don’t want him to misunderstand me again.”

Katherine thought for a few seconds, then said, “Well, then it’s up to you.”

Maybe this was fine. After all, they were divorced now.
