Wendy looked at Dominic, clearly surprised. “Mr. Fleming…”
Dominic smiled faintly. “Didn’t you say it yourself? We’re good friends. When a good friend gets into trouble, how could I sit back and do nothing?”
As for Adam, calling him a troublesome kid would have insulted the term. Whether he was born bad or spoiled by his parents, Wendy knew one thing for certain: he had personally pushed her to her death.
Even at such a young age, he was already a murderer, and that was unforgivable.
Wendy paused, then suddenly buried her face against Dominic’s chest and broke down, sobbing. “Mr. Fleming, you’re really so good…”
Dominic smiled and lifted her upright. “Alright, that’s enough contact. Don’t cling to me. If you keep appearing like this, you’ll get dizzy again.”
The first time she had manifested, she lasted three hours before the dizziness set in. The second time, she barely held on for a little over an hour. If there were a third time, it would likely be even shorter.
Wendy gave a soft acknowledgment and straightened her posture.
Dominic started driving back.
By the time they returned to Skyline City, evening had already fallen.
Wendy hesitated before asking, “What should we do next?”
Dominic considered it briefly. “We’ll find them first. Then we’ll decide.”
He was not planning a minor scare. He wanted those bastards to pay in blood, which meant he needed a careful plan and no loose ends.
“I know where their house is,” Wendy said at once.
As Dominic started the car, she added, “Mr. Fleming, can you give me a strand of your hair later?”
Dominic turned to look at her.
Indignation flashed in Wendy’s eyes. “I want to take revenge myself!”
More than wanting personal revenge, she did not want him to be put in danger.
Dominic smiled. “We’ll talk about it later.”
At the right moment, Wendy taking action would be far better than him doing it himself.
Soon, they arrived at a residential complex. Before they even entered, they saw a family of three walking out
Wendy’s eyes immediately filled with resentment. “It’s them!”
Dominic looked over quietly.
Adam likely weighed over 100 pounds and was extremely chubby, his eyes narrowed into thin slits. He licked an ice cream with obvious enjoyment, showing no guilt at all for trying to kill Wendy just days earlier.
The mother complained nonstop. “I told you we didn’t need to give them anything. That was 1,500 dollars! Why did you give them money?”

The father snapped back angrily, “You think I wanted to? Everyone was cursing us. What else could I do?”
“All of this is because of that shameless girl. She’s dead, and she still causes trouble!” the mother cursed sharply.
Adam looked up at her in confusion. “Mom, what shameless girl?”
The mother let out a cold snort. “That nurse who fell that day. She blackmailed our family for 1,500 dollars.”
Adam’s expression turned fierce. “How dare she! Dad, go get our money back!”
“Alright, alright. We’ll go right now,” the father said.
The three of them walked past Dominic’s car as they talked.
Wendy had heard every word, and rage shook her to the core. How could people like this exist?
Dominic’s gaze turned icy, and his voice was even colder. “What a family of animals.”
