Isabella wanted to go after him, but the IV line tethered her to the bed, leaving her no choice but to slump back against the pillows.

Katherine walked over and smoothed the blanket at her waist. “You know, this wasn’t a big deal to begin with. You’re the one who turned it into this. Was it worth it?”

“I never thought it would end up like this…” Isabella said, her voice distant.

“You should have told Dominic about Benjamin a long time ago. He could have understood,” Katherine said, anger edging her

tone.

It was not just irritation over Isabella’s stubbornness. With Isabella thrown out, Katherine no longer had any reason to stay in

Dominic’s house either.

Isabella’s expression darkened. “Benjamin has been dead for a long time. When we first got married, I didn’t think this was something I needed to talk about. Even if my husband could understand, why bring up someone who’s already gone?”

Katherine nodded, then let out a scoffing laugh. “Your logic isn’t wrong. Benjamin is dead, so there was no real need to mention him. Katherine’s cheek twitched. She looked away and snorted. “I didn’t say that.”

Silence fell between them.

A cold glint flashed through Isabella’s eyes. “Someone sent Dominic photos of Benjamin and ine together.”

Katherine frowned. “Who would do something like that?”
