Just as her fingers were about to touch them, another hand reached in first and picked the mug up.

Yara looked up.

A man stood there, extending a hand toward her.

“The ground’s dirty,” he said gently. “Let me help you up.”

Vara lifted her head and stared at him without expression, remaining still for a long while.

Dominic let out a quiet sigh, bent down, and helped her to her feet.

She seemed to have no strength left. She could not even stand on her own and had to rely entirely on his support.

Yara’s gaze dropped to the mug in his hand. When she saw the cracks running across its surface, a sharp wave of sadness rose in her eyes, and tears spilled down her cheeks.

With great effort, she spoke in broken fragments. “You… You… Can you… give me… the mug…”

Dominic nodded and placed it in her hands.

She immediately pulled it against her chest, hugging it as if it were something precious.

Seeing how difficult it was for her to walk, Dominic picked her up without hesitation. Only then did he realize how unnaturally light she was.

She could not have weighed more than 70 pounds.

Something stirred in him as he carried her toward the dorm.

The other women inside froze when they saw him. He wore a suit, his features striking, and his presence alone set him apart from everyone else in the room.

The woman who had thrown the mug quickly forced a flattering smile. “Hello, sir.”

She had no idea who Dominic was, but she did not dare offend him.

Dominic ignored her. He carried Yara inside and asked gently, “Which bed is yours?”

Yara curled her hands against her chest and pointed weakly toward a bunk. “That… That one…”

Dominic nodded and set her down on the bed.

Then he turned around.

Dominic cut her off with a sharp slap across the face. He followed it with a kick to her stomach. The impact sent her flying backward, and she crashed into the opposite bed.

Dominic’s expression was icy as he ground his teeth. “She’s already in this state, and you still bully her? Are you even human?”

The woman struggled to rise. Pain twisted her features. As she tried to speak, violent spasms wracked her stomach, and she began retching uncontrollably.

To her horror, blood seeped from the corner of her mouth. It was clear that Dominic had not held back.

Seeing that the situation had taken a dangerous turn, the other two women fled the room at once.

By then, many women had stepped out of their dorms and were watching quietly from the hallway.
