Dominic slid into the back seat and asked, “Have you had breakfast?”
“I haven’t. I’m really hungry,” Max answered honestly.

Dominic laughed and waved his hand, signaling Brian to drive. “Then let’s go get breakfast. It’s on me!”
They stopped at a breakfast shop not far away. Max stood nearly two meters tall, and his height made many people instinctively wary.
Dominic was not short either, a little over six feet, but beside Max he still looked slightly overshadowed.
At breakfast, Max finished two full breakfast for two people and two baskets of bread before finally saying he was full.
Dominic felt as if he were watching a miracle. He laughed and said, “If you’re still not full, order more.”
Max’s face lit up, and he promptly ordered another basket of bread.
After packing some food to take to Yara, they set off.
When they arrived at the hotel, Dominic went upstairs alone.
He knocked on the door.
From inside came Yara’s voice. “W–Who is it?”
“It’s me.”
When she heard Dominic, she quickly replied, “M–Mr. Fleming… wait… just a moment…”
Five full minutes passed before the door finally opened.
Yara leaned against the wall. Her steps were awkward and unsteady.
She tried to force a smile, but the effort showed clearly.
Dominic hurried over to support her. “Did you wash up yet?”
Yara shook her head.
Dominic raised the breakfast in his hand. “Then go wash your face and brush your teeth first. Come out and eat once you’re done.”
A faint light of joy surfaced in Yara’s eyes. She hummed softly in reply and, steadying herself against the wall, went into the bathroom.
As she picked up her toothbrush, she caught sight of herself in the mirror. The awkwardness in her expression made her heart tremble. ‘His smile is so warm. I’m so ugly…‘
She did not wash up right away. She tried to calm herself, wanting to put on a pretty smile.
But she could not.
In the mirror, her features were actually delicate, yet her expression refused to cooperate. The corners of her mouth twisted into something unnatural, making her look strange at first glance.
No matter how she adjusted, it still felt wrong.
Anxiety crept in, and the more anxious she became, the less control she had.

Dominic waited in the room for half an hour before Yara finally came out. Her eyes were red.
He stepped forward to support her. “Hey, why are you crying?”
Yara bit her lip and shook her head gently, saying nothing.
Dominic sighed inwardly. “This young woman has been through so much.‘
He spoke softly. “Alright. Don’t dwell on sad things. Ryan also hoped you’d live well. I’ll take you to the hospital later. You have to listen to the doctor and do your rehab training properly.”
“M–Mr. Fleming… I… I will,” Yara replied quietly.
“That’s good,” Dominic said with a light tone. “When you have time, read some books too. I run a company. Your brother said you’re smart. Maybe one day you can even help me.”
At those words, a faint brightness returned to Yara’s eyes.
Dominic helped her sit on the bed, opened the breakfast for her, and said, “Eat a little. We’ll go downstairs after.”
“O–Okay…” Yara leaned forward and began to eat.
She could not extend her arms properly and kept them curled close to her chest, which made her posture look awkward.
Dominic watched her with gentle eyes and sighed. “Eat more. Look how thin you are. At your height, about 105 pounds would be perfect.”
‘105 pounds…‘ Yara continued eating quietly, but she held his words close to her heart.
After she finished, Dominic stood in front of her and turned his back. “I’ll carry you downstairs.”
All of Yara’s bags were already in the car. Nothing remained in the room except her phone.
Without waiting for her response, he lifted her onto his back.
“Hold onto my neck. Don’t fall,” Dominic said as he stepped out.
Yara’s face flushed a faint red. She obediently reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.
