Only then did Jessica break into a wide smile. She bent down, scooped Lilith into her arms, kissed her on the cheek, and said, ” Lily, did you miss me?”

Lilith stretched out her hand, leaving a tiny gap between her thumb and index finger. “Just a teeny tiny bit.”

Hearing that, Jessica said unhappily, “That teeny tiny bit makes Mommy very upset!”

Hearing her call herself “Mommy” again, Lilith flared up. “Jessica, now I don’t miss you at all. Hmph!”

Jessice sighed. “You little rascal. How can you talk to Mommy like that?”
