Chapter 390
Dominic laughed awkwardly and tried to brush it off. “Next time, next time for sure!”
Jessica pouted. Irritation crept in as she picked up her phone to see which jerk had interrupted her fun.
She glanced at the screen, frowned, and said, “Why is she calling me?”
Dominic asked casually, “Who is it?”
“My bestie… No, more like an old neighbor,” Jessica replied. “We haven’t kept in touch lately. I don’t want to pick up.”
After that, she ended the video call and flopped onto the bed.
She sprawled out, arms and legs wide. Her top and skirt had ridden up, her hair a mess, and Dominic’s gaze flickered despite himself.
Jessica giggled, curled a finger at him, and batted her eyes. “Dominic, come on. Let’s have some fun.”
Dominic clenched his jaw. “Calm down. And fix yourself up a bit.”
“Ugh, you’re so annoying!” Jessica glanced at herself, then laughed. “Fix what? Isn’t this all your handiwork, Dominic?”
Dominic had no argument. He grabbed the cup of water from the nightstand, took a long sip, and tried to steady himself.
Jessica was about to keep teasing when her phone rang again.
Annoyed, she picked it up once more. “Seriously, does this ever end?”
This time, she answered.
“Hello, Rosie. What’s up?” Her tone turned sharp.
A young woman around 18 appeared on the screen. Her cheeks were still a little chubby, and she was strikingly pretty, but her eyes and expression carried a trace of arrogance uncommon for her age.
When she saw that Jessica had answered, she frowned. “Jessica, I’ve been calling you forever. Why are you only picking up

now?
Jessica frowned back. “Can’t I be busy sometimes? Are you blaming me for not answering?”
Rosie Jones‘ eyes darted, then she smiled quickly. “Oh no, no! I just missed you. You weren’t in Skyline City, and I get bored sometimes.”
“Bored? Then go to sleep,” Jessica said lightly.
“Oh, come on, I really missed you!” Rosie ignored her tone and kept smiling. “When are you coming back to Skyline City?”
“Not anytime soon,” Jessica replied. “Why?”
“Come back soon. Let’s hang out,” Rosie said. “Me, my brother, and a bunch of friends all want you back!“.
She turned the camera to show a young man. He was handsome, almost on par with Dominic, and he looked slightly puzzled when his sister suddenly switched the view.
“Bro, I’m on a video call with Jessica. Say hi!” Rosie said.
The young man paused, then smiled and waved at the camera. “Jessica, long time no see.”
Every movement carried an easy confidence.
Jessica’s expression stayed flat. “Go play your games. What do you want from me?”

Rosie quickly flipped the camera back, her voice turning pleading. “Jessica! We’re all in the same circle. Without you, it’s way less fun!”
“Who said I’m in the same circle as you?” Jessica glanced at Dominic, irritation surfacing.
Rosie froze. “Aren’t you? We all played together with my brother when we were kids. You even called him ‘Shaunie.‘ Back then, you were practically my sister–in–law-
“Shut up!” Jessica snapped, anger flaring. “Who’s your sister–in–law? Back when? When we were ten? Nine? Rosie, say something like that again, and don’t blame me if I lose my temper.”
