Chapter 400
Lydia shrank under Isabella’s aggressive stare, a flicker of fear crossing her face. She shifted her footing and tucked half her body behind Dominic.
“You…” Isabella seethed and reached out to drag Lydia forward.
Dominic lifted his hand with casual ease and brushed Isabella’s arm aside.
A red mark bloomed at once on her fair skin.
Isabella bit her lip, ignored the sting, and said urgently, “Honey, don’t stay with her. This woman means no good.”
Dominic said nothing. His gaze moved between Isabella and Zachary, and he sneered.
Isabella turned toward Zachary and felt her heart lurch. She rushed to explain, “Honey, I only came to talk business today–”
“Whatever business you are discussing has nothing to do with me,” Dominic cut in calmly. “You eat, I eat.”
Isabella pressed her lips together, stubbornness flashing in her eyes. “No. Since you’re here, I won’t talk about anything else. I’ll stay with you.”
She stepped to Dominic’s side, clung to his arm, and shoved Lydia away.
Zachary frowned. “Ms. Sinclair, about the contract we were discussing…”
“We’ll talk about it another time,” Isabella said without hesitation.
Zachary’s expression stiffened. “This collaboration involves-”
“Are you finished?” Isabella snapped. “I already said we’ll discuss it next time.”
Zachary froze. He had not expected Isabella to lose all composure the moment she saw Dominic.
He dared not push further and cast a discreet glance at Lydia.
Lydia caught the hint and forced an awkward smile. “Mr. Fleming, I’ll leave for now. I won’t disturb you.”
Isabella shot her a frosty look. “If you’re leaving, then leave. Why waste words?”
By then, many diners had begun to watch.
Dominic heard Lydia and gently freed his arm from Isabella’s grasp. He tolfd Lydia, “This isn’t a good place for lunch. Let’s go somewhere else.”
He took Lydia with him and walked out without sparing Isabella a glance.
“Honey…” Isabella called after him despite herself.
Dominic did not respond. He left the restaurant without pause,
Isabella chased after him and could only watch as his old car pulled out of the parking lot. Her chest tightened with pain, and she
stood there at a loss.
Zachary stepped up beside her and smiled faintly. “Ms. Sinclair, it looks like your ex–husband has moved on.”
“No… No…” Isabella shook her head as tears slid down her cheeks.
Zachary’s eyes flickered. He seized the moment and reached out, trying to place an arm around her shoulders.
Isabella sensed it at once. She turned sharply and said coldly, “What do you think you’re doing?”
e doing?
Zachary smirked. “I’m only standing up for you, Ms. Sinclair. That man isn’t worthy of you.”

“Whether he’s worthy of me or not has nothing to do with you,” Isabella sald, her face riched with disgust. “Say one more word and forget the deal.”
Zachary’s heart sank
Recently, he had relied on intermediaries to work with Isabella’s company on a major project. Most of the profits would go to her, and he had spent a long time arranging today’s meeting
He had thought he was a key partner and deserved some courtesy. Instead, one sentence had ended everything
What kind of thinking did this woman have?
Isabella ignored him, her gaze fixed on the disappearing car.
Inside the vehicle, Dominic glanced at Isabella and Zachary near the restaurant entrance. After a brief pause, he pulled over and fold Lydia, “Wait for me here.”
