Chapter 469
Benedict laughed. “Getting cocky, huh? Up 1,000,000 dollars already?”
The purple–haired man growled, “I’ve already lost over 20,000,000. Don’t start needling me now.”
Benedict glanced at his cards and slid 2,000,000 into the pot with an easy smile. “Then I’ll match.”
Dominic paused.
With only three players left, he could not compare hands without revealing his own. To eliminate anyone, he would have to challenge Benedict directly.
The round felt off. After a brief calculation, he pushed in 2,000,000 as well.
The purple–haired man sneered, “All right. You’ve got guts. I’ll see for 2,000,000 too.”
As the chips hit the table, the crowd fell silent. Even among the wealthy, wagers of this size
were rare.
Benedict did not blink.
“Trying to scare me?” he asked coolly.
He added 4,000,000.
Dominic caught on to their rhythm and matched the 4,000,000 without hesitation.
Then, in the final round, the purple–haired man threw in 5,000,000.
Benedict leaned back. “Third round. I can compare now. 10,000,000, Dominic. Let’s see your
hand.”
Dominic nodded and handed over his cards.
Benedict glanced at them and gave a low whistle. Just slightly higher than mine.”
He tossed his cards aside.
From the sidelines, Lydia cried out, “Dominic, something’s wrong. His cards are only a ten- high.”
Dominic’s gaze sharpened. As he suspected, Benedict and the purple–haired man were working together to pressure him out. No one would keep pushing with a ten–high when another player had already matched at this level. Not with stakes this massive. Wealth did not make people reckless.
Seeing Dominic’s silence, the purple–haired man taunted, “What’s the matter? Just the two of us now. Put up 10,000,000 and I’ll fold.”

Dominic returned to himself and slid 10,000,000 forward. “Matching. Not seeing.”
“Not seeing?” The purple–haired man looked surprised, though triumph flickered in his eyes.
He lifted his cards. “Fine. I’ll see.”
Lydia leaned closer.
“A pair of threes- Wait! What is that?” she blurted. “There’s some kind of button. He rubbed the cards and… it’s three aces!”
At her words, Dominic understood at once.
The deck was high–tech.
The spectators stood at least a meter away, and the purple–haired man’s body shielded his cards from view. No one could see them clearly.
Except Lydia.
The purple–haired man completed his maneuver and feigned hesitation. After a beat, he clenched his jaw. “10,000,000. I’ll match.”
“Not seeing?” Dominic asked.
The purple–haired man snorted. “You’re not seeing. Why should I?”
Dominic said nothing. He added another 10,000,000.
The purple–haired man’s eyes gleamed, confidence tipping toward frenzy. “You think a hand like this scares me? 20,000,000. I’m not seeing.”
Dominic’s tone stayed level. “You don’t have enough chips on the table. Need more?”
The purple–haired man signaled a server. Here, chips were unlimited. They would settle accounts after the game.
