Dominic pretended to wince in pain and gave an awkward grin as he hurriedly nodded. “Yes, yes, babe Whatever you say is right. I’ll listen to you.”
Katherine finally looked satisfied.
Dominic quickly changed the subject. “You said you had something to tell me. What is it?”
Katherine remembered the real issue. “Aren’t you going to Eastmere tomorrow? How are we getting there? Should we pack tonight?”
Dominic thought for a moment. “Sure. We can pack tonight and leave tomorrow. By the way, you can stay at my place tonight.”
His expression remained calm, but his heart nearly pounded out of his chest.
‘Tonight, once Lily falls asleep, won’t that mean…‘ He had already tasted the sweetness of this beauty, and now he wanted more.
Katherine seemed to guess his thoughts and smiled gently. “Sure.”
Dominic’s eyes lit up.
The next second, a gleam of pride flashed in Katherine’s eyes as she added, “Tomorrow we’ll all go to Eastmere together. Bella is coming too.”
Dominic froze. “You mean she’ll stay at my place tonight too?”
“Of course,” Katherine said.
Dominic immediately felt defeated.
With Isabella around, he had zero chance with Katherine.
Katherine burst into laughter when she saw him sulking.
Dominic snapped, “What are you laughing at? Laugh again and you won’t be leaving today.”
His gaze swept slowly over Katherine. The look made her body react at once. Wherever his eyes lingered, she felt as if ants crawled across her skin.
She immediately stood up, her voice trembling. “I’ve said everything I needed to. L… I’ll go now.”
Dominic had no intention of letting her leave so easily. He moved quickly when she tried to run and grabbed her.
Katherine gasped. “You!”
Dominic said nothing. He lifted her into his arms and carried her into the lounge.
He thought he would finally get what he wanted. Then he noticed the cool dampness on Katherine’s

face. He reached out to touch her and realized the truth. “You. You’re crying?
Katherine said nothing and continued to cry quietly.
A flicker of regret crossed Dominic’s mind. He thought he might have been too rough. He silently need her straighten her clothes.
Katherine sniffled, adjusted her outfit, and walked toward the door.
When she opened the office door, she suddenly turned her head. Her eyes shimmered with tears, yer a mischievous smile appeared on her face. “Dominic, you’re worse than a beast.”
She said that, opened the door, and ran off.
Dominic stood there, stunned and motionless.
After a long moment, he muttered in frustration, “Damn it.”
An experienced player like him had just been outsmarted by a rookie.
That afternoon, Dominic told Jewel he would be going to Eastmere for a while. She would handle the company during his absence. He asked her to call if anything urgent came up.
Jewel looked disappointed. “How long will you be in Eastmere?”
“Hard to say. At most a week.”
Katherine had not returned in a long time, so it would make sense for her to stay a few days.
After he finished briefing Jewel, Dominic quickly left the company. He would head to Eastmere tomorrow, so he needed to say goodbye to Jessica. The little troublemaker had helped him a great deal
It was only 1:00 p.m. Later they had agreed to pick up Lilith together, so time was tight.
Dominic drove to Orn Lake. The place already felt familiar.
No one stopped him, and he walked straight into the villa.
Roy was not home. Only the service staff remained in the house. Dominic went up to the second floor without difficulty.
He asked a maid upstairs and learned that Jessica was in her room.
Dominic pushed the door open.
The moment he stepped inside, he froze.
Inside the boudoir, behind the semi–transparent bathroom glass, a slender, graceful silhouette appeared in soft outline. Water splashed against the glass. The elegant curves of the figure held his gaze in place.
