Jessica’s cheerful singing.
“La la la la la…” she hummed, clearly in a good mood.
Dominic stared. The glass was not very transparent and showed only a blurred, snowy–white figure, yet the scene left plenty to the imagination.
He was no exception. He prided himself on having decent self–control, but this was Jessica, the little
troublemaker.
He watched for a long moment before forcing himself to calm down and shifting his gaze elsewhere.
The bed looked slightly messy.
Dominic reached out and touched it. The sheets still held a faint warmth. Jessica had clearly been lying there just moments ago.
As he looked around, his eyes fell on the tablet beside the pillow.
The screen was still lit, displaying a small line sketch. Two figures appeared in the drawing. The man wore a suit and looked somewhat handsome, grinning as he ran forward with his coat tails flapping
behind him.
The man’s features resembled Dominic’s, though the drawing itself lacked refinement.
Behind him, a petite girl with twin ponytails chased after him. A speech bubble hovered beside her: [ Dominic, wait for me!!]
The scene made the twin–tailed girl look rather pitiful.
Dominic studied it, and the corners of his mouth lifted into a small smile.
An idea struck him.
His drawing skills far surpassed Jessica’s. He took over the sketch, erased a few lines, and began modifying it.
Before long, the image looked completely different.
The two figures now had clearer facial features that closely resembled them. Dominic ran in front with a jealous expression, while Jessica chased behind him with a devilish grin.
[Dominic, where are you running?!]
When he finished, Dominic could not help laughing at his own masterpiece.
By then, the sound of water in the bathroom had stopped. Jessica must have finished her shower.
Her singing had turned into whistling. She would be coming out soon
Dominic quickly returned the tablet to its place and crouched beside the cabinet
Jessica’s room was spacious. Anyone who did not look carefully would not notice her from the side of
the bed.
After hiding, he quietly observed,
Soon, Jessica walked out wrapped in a towel.
The towel barely covered her striking figure. Her snow–white legs stretched straight and slender, and the sight naturally drew the eye upward,
Her palm–sized face flushed pink as she walked to the bed and sat down.
She quickly picked up her phone, glanced at the screen, and then looked disappointed.
“This Dominic! He’s too much,” she muttered. “Other people’s boyfriends can reply halfway through a sprint, but he reads messages without replying! Hmph, outrageous!”
Dominic felt completely wronged.
He usually replied to Jessica’s messages the moment he saw them. He never left her on “Read.”
He glanced at his phone and realized that less than an hour had passed since his last reply. His expression darkened. Did she expect him to stare at his phone all day and do nothing else?
Jessica stared at the chat window for a few seconds, then pouted and sent Dominic a pig emoji. Only then did she seem satisfied. A smile curled at the corners of her mouth, revealing her small canine teeth.
She looked like someone who had just played a small prank and was quietly pleased with herself.
Dominic felt both annoyed and amused.
Jessica waited another 30 seconds. When Dominic still did not reply, she poked the phone screen a few times before setting it down.
Bored again, she picked up the tablet beside her.
