Dominic hadn’t seen Lilith for a few days, so he naturally spoiled her. With an affectionate smile, he said, “Alright. Daddy will take you to KFC.”
Isabella looked at Lilith suspiciously. “Yesterday at your aunt’s house, I clearly saw a half–eaten hamburger. Don’t tell me that wasn’t yours.”
Lilith’s expression changed immediately. She hurried to say, “I haven’t had KFC for a long time. Daddy, please take me!”
Cradled in Dominic’s arms, she shook him and acted cute.
The soft–hearted father could hardly resist. Just as he was about to agree, Katherine said calmly, “You didn’t eat KFC because you had McDonald’s yesterday.”
Dominic and Isabella immediately turned their gazes to the girl.
The smile on Lilith’s face stiffened. She said weakly, “Well… Daddy only lets me eat KFC once a month, and McDonald’s isn’t the same as KFC.”
Dominic burst out laughing in exasperation. “Lily, so after all that, you were playing tricks on me?”
The girl pouted.
“Go home. The food your dad cooks is ten thousand times better than KFC,” Isabella said coldly.
She took Lilith from Dominic’s arms without the slightest indulgence. Only then did the girl nod reluctantly.
Dominic smiled and shook his head. He nodded to Brian and Max not far away, then got into the car and drove off.
On the way, Dominic asked, “You’re staying at my place tonight. Do you want to pack your things first?”
Isabella thought for a moment. “Let’s go to Riverside Residence tomorrow morning. Going there now would waste too much time, and we still have to cook dinner tonight.”
Seeing that Katherine didn’t say anything, Dominic nodded.
They stopped at a nearby supermarket to buy groceries. Afterward, the group returned to Luxe Residence.
As soon as they arrived home, Isabella set Lilith down and hurried inside, her eyes scanning the house.
Dominic frowned. “Why are you sneaking around like a thief?”
Caught off guard, Isabella laughed awkwardly. “Ah, nothing. I’m just checking whether the house is dirty anywhere so I can clean it.”
Dominic snorted and carried the groceries straight into the kitchen.
Katherine glanced at Isabella and let out a faint, mocking smile. *Isabella, do you really think no one can see through your little scheme? You’re just checking whether any woman has been living here… Though to be fair, the place does look quite clean. It doesn’t seem like a woman has been staying here.*
Isabella leaned closer and asked suspiciously, “Sis, why are you looking around too?”
Katherine froze. “What? Am I?”
Isabella nodded seriously. “Yes!”
Now it was Katherine’s turn to feel awkward. She stammered, “Ah… I was just checking if there’s any place dirty so I can clean it later.”
After saying that, she grabbed a broom and began doing housework.

Isabella felt that her sister was acting strangely, but she couldn’t figure out why. Puzzled, she stopped thinking about it and went to urge Lilith to finish her homework.
Before long, the girl shouted excitedly, “Are we going to Great–grandma’s house tomorrow?”
Isabella replied coldly, “Why are you making such a fuss? Even if we go, that’s tomorrow. Right now, finish your homework. If you don’t finish it, I’ll leave you here alone tomorrow.”
Lilith immediately grew frightened. She lowered her head and began writing furiously.
Upon seeing this, Isabella’s lips curved into a breathtaking smile.
As night fell, two cars slowly drove into Luxe Residence and stopped in a dark corner where no lights shone, blending completely into the shadows.
A voice came from one of the cars. “Wait here. We’ll move later.”
“Alright.”
