Oliver gritted his teeth and turned to Leticia. “Grandma… I’m heading out. You won’t stop us, right?”
Leticia nodded, her expression calm and approving. “Oliver, go. That little brat has gone too far. Teach him a proper lesson for me.”
Oliver froze when he saw the encouragement in his grandmother’s eyes. A thousand thoughts crowded his mind, then collapsed into one awkward sentence. “Well… he is my brother–in–law, after all. I’ll try… my best… to go a little easy on him…”
Outside, the two men faced each other.
Oliver looked deeply aggrieved. “Damn it. You do nothing useful all day and just bully Katherine and Isabella. I’m their big brother. Today, I’m getting justice for them.”
Inside, he felt exhausted. He even began to question whether maintaining his “overprotective big brother” persona was worth it. If this continued, his confidence would be completely destroyed.
Dominic’s eyes flickered, and his expression turned solemn. “Oliver… have you been training in secret? You feel different from before.”
Oliver froze. A flicker of hope ignited in his eyes.
He sneered, “You think I’m still the same person I used to be?”
He had not stopped training. He had improved his strength, technique, and endurance. He had even hired well–known professionals and followed a strict, systematic program.
At first, he thought it would not make much difference against a monster like Dominic. But when Dominic took him seriously, he began to wonder whether Dominic could actually sense the change.
‘Is he starting to feel pressured?‘ The thought made Oliver’s eyes light up.
As expected, Dominic spoke in a grave tone. “Even so… you’re probably still not my opponent.”
At that moment, Oliver nearly teared up. ‘Look at that. He even said “probably.” That means he’s not confident.‘
He shrugged off his coat and scoffed. “Enough talk. Let’s see what happens after we fight.”
Oliver felt incredibly cool. More importantly, from the corner of his eye, he noticed something.
One of the upstairs windows shifted slightly. From two separate rooms, it seemed that two pairs of eyes were watching in secret.
Oliver’s heart surged with excitement. In front of Katherine and Isabella, he would finally wash away his past humiliation.
He charged forward, his stance fairly solid.
Dominic did not underestimate him and immediately raised a defensive posture.
Soon, they were locked in a fight.
Oliver’s wild punches carried surprising force. Before Dominic finally knocked him down, Oliver landed three solid hits: one to the left cheek, one to the chest, and one to the thigh.
Bruised and battered, Oliver was eventually carried back inside by two bodyguards.
Dominic spoke seriously. “Oliver, your improvement is truly frightening. If you were just a little stronger, I would be the one lying on the ground today.”
Oliver froze. Then he burst into exaggerated laughter and shouted arrogantly, “Dominic! I just wasn’t in good form today. Next time, you’re finished!”
