She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 220

Before Riley and Evelyn had even finished their meal, Schrödinger's Pill had already sent over all twenty quiz questions.

Riley excitedly pulled out a second phone and began searching for the answers online.

"Adrian Mercer is definitely going to lose this time!" he declared. Knowing the questions and memorizing the answers in advance, Riley couldn't imagine any way he could lose.

At Rosevale Heights, after sending the quiz questions, Melanie's gaze inadvertently fell upon the coffee table. At some point, a lychee-flavored soda had appeared on it.

In this house, besides her, there was only Preston. It wasn't like a ghost had brought her a drink.

Melanie was amused. She hadn't realized she was so absorbed that she hadn't even noticed Preston walk over and leave her a soda.

She took a sip. The sweet taste was refreshing.

The light in the spare bedroom was already off. Preston must be asleep, she thought.

It had been a while since Preston's confession, and she had expected him to launch a fierce pursuit, especially since they were living under the same roof. However, his behavior toward her hadn't changed much from before.

This made Melanie feel very relaxed, and it was one of the reasons she continued to stay here.

Whispering a soft "good night" into the air, Melanie turned and walked into her own room.

Besides, if Adrian really did lose, Melanie's resignation wouldn't fix anything. The entire industry was watching, focused on the new anti-cancer drug project their Hale Health Center was funding.

If Adrian lost, it would directly affect the industry's assessment of their company, and could even impact the stock price of the parent Hale Group. On the surface, it might look like a simple knowledge quiz, but the outcome would have far-reaching consequences.

The more Dominic thought about it, the more his confidence waned, and the more he couldn't help but blame Melanie. If only she had listened to Evelyn's advice and properly apologized to Riley, placated him… maybe none of this would be happening today.

But it was too late for regrets. All Dominic could do now was trust Melanie and take things one step at a time.

Riley had already arrived, dressed like a celebrity, even waving to the audience as he took the stage. Everyone in the room could feel his overflowing confidence.

His opponent was late. And when he finally arrived, it wasn't Adrian Mercer.
