Lynn immediately caught onto Jade's implication and chimed in agreement.
This instantly darkened Miles's expression.
Quinn was dressed in a casual sweater, jeans, and canvas sneakers today.
It was the most basic, unassuming outfit, yet she possessed an enchanting beauty and a body that put supermodels to shame.
Remembering how soft and warm she felt in his arms last night, Miles's throat suddenly went dry.
"Hunter, follow her. Make sure she doesn't do anything out of line."
...
Quinn had arranged to meet Eleanor, and the two were getting burgers at a nearby fast-food joint while Hunter waited outside.
By the time she finished, it was already 10:30 PM.
When they returned to the hotel, Quinn walked toward her room, only to see Miles and Hunter waiting by her door.
Not wanting to deal with them, she spun on her heel and headed for the hotel's outdoor terrace.
Seeing her walk away, Miles's face clouded over, and he stalked after her.
"Quinn!"
"Miles, what is it now?"
"I can't reach Luna on her watch. Call her right now. I need to know she's okay."
Quinn had literally just spoken to Yara. Her babies were perfectly fine; what could possibly be wrong?
The secondhand watch he gave her was probably broken, or just out of battery, which was why he couldn't get through.
"Miles, I just spoke with Yara. She didn't mention anything being wrong with the kids. You're overthinking it."
"I said call her. Now."
Miles didn't trust her in the slightest, his dark eyes locking onto her intensely.
Quinn knew that if she didn't make the call, they would be standing out here all night.
She was exhausted and just wanted to sleep.
