She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 108

Miles had instructed Hunter to teach Quinn a few basic English greetings beforehand, advising her to just say she didn't understand much if anyone pressed her.

He fully expected her to be awkward and out of her depth, creating minor headaches for him throughout the evening.

To his surprise, she remained completely composed from start to finish. Her posture was flawless, her manners impeccable, and every word she spoke carried an air of effortless grace.

His worries had been completely unfounded.

Mrs. Pierce was incredibly taken with Quinn and invited her to the conservatory for coffee.

Quinn smiled warmly and accompanied her, her demeanor perfectly balanced and polished.

She even found herself seamlessly conversing with several wives of international delegates.

Hunter smiled as he reported back. "Mr. York, I think you might have underestimated Mrs. York. I just heard her having a lovely chat with Madame Virmont from France."

Miles raised a surprised eyebrow. "Are you saying she speaks French? That's impossible."

Hunter wasn't entirely certain either, but seeing the notoriously difficult Madame Virmont getting along so famously with her sparked his curiosity.

Meeting his boss's skeptical glare, Hunter pushed up his glasses and hedged, "Well... maybe they were speaking English."

Yet he had overheard another guest mention how arrogant Madame Virmont was, noting that she rarely spoke English at these events and strictly preferred French.

"She's probably just nodding along like a mute, and they're keeping her around for amusement. Go remind her not to make a fool of herself."

Hunter nodded and wove through the crowd toward the conservatory.

As Quinn exited the floral room, she bumped directly into a man. It was Ethan, the man she had left hanging during their waltz.

He was sharply dressed in a suit, radiating a gentle, scholarly charm.

Ethan hadn't expected to run into Quinn here either. Though she had worn a butterfly mask that night, he recognized her the instant he laid eyes on her.

After all, given their history...

She was as radiant and captivating as ever, practically glowing.

Like a brilliant moon illuminating the night sky, she was dazzling.
