Macy spoke up in defense of Leo. "Jade, you're being far too generous. Those millions of dollars rightfully belong to Leo, yet you're willing to give half away?"
Yara was so infuriated by Jade's fake magnanimity that her chest heaved. "Jade, that money was Caleb's to begin with! What do you mean you'll share it?"
Macy retorted with raised eyebrows, "What is wrong with you? Jade is offering half the prize money to your kid, and instead of being grateful, you're getting mad at her?"
"Quinn Avery, keep your friend in check! Don't let her throw a baseless tantrum in public, just like you!"
"Macy, my friend isn't wrong. Who's the one truly lacking manners here?"
Miles didn't want his sister getting involved in this mess. He told her to go to the stage and look after Leo.
Macy glared at Quinn and Yara, reluctant to leave, but facing her brother's chilling gaze, she walked away resentfully.
Seeing that Quinn's friend had brought Luna to the competition without a man in sight, Jade casually remarked.
"Quinn, why is your best friend always alone? Could it be that she's a single mother struggling to get by?"
Quinn felt humiliation burning within her anger. If the children weren't present, she would have slapped her across the face.
"Jade, Luna is not an illegitimate child. If anyone is illegitimate here, it's your Leo, isn't it?"
Yara added, "Exactly! And he's the product of an affair on top of that!"
Miles's dark eyes instantly iced over. "Quinn, Leo is not an illegitimate child. Watch your mouth and your friend's, or I'll make you realize the consequences of spreading rumors!"
Luna defended her mother, her tone filled with dissatisfaction. "Weird Uncle, this lady was the one mocking me for being illegitimate first. Quinn was just defending me. Why are you scolding her?"
The sharp aura radiating from Miles instantly deflated. "Luna, I... I was just reminding her not to be so impolite."
