When Quinn came home, she realized her throat was feeling scratchy and thought she might be coming down with something.
Seeing the ingredients in the fridge, she decided to make a pot of nourishing soup for herself. Thanks to her, both Gail and Jack got to enjoy a bowl of the delicious broth as well.
Jack had suggested leaving a portion aside, just in case their boss wanted some when he got back.
He was completely right. The boss clearly loved the soup.
Hearing this, Miles glanced toward the kitchen just as Quinn walked out, carrying a glass of milk back to her room.
A faint ripple of emotion flashed through his deep eyes.
This woman kept demanding a divorce, but deep down, she obviously still cared about him, didn't she?
He raised an eyebrow, pulled out his phone, and texted Hunter.
[Get some high-end designer outfits and a matching jewelry set ready for Quinn tomorrow. Also, pick up a few princess dresses for Luna.]
Since she went out of her way to make him soup, he figured he could have Hunter buy her some nice clothes and jewelry. That way, his grandmother wouldn't be able to accuse him of constantly bullying her.
When had he ever bullied her anyway?
Hunter replied: [Should I deliver them to Quinn and Luna tomorrow?]
Miles thought about it for a second. He decided it would be better to give them a surprise.
[Bring them to the award ceremony when she and Luna arrive with Caleb. They can change into them before they go on stage to accept the award.]
Just picturing that little dumpling, Luna, dressed up in a princess gown he had picked out, walking on stage holding her cousin's hand, put him in a fantastic mood.
Pushing down the excitement bubbling inside him, he turned to Jack. "How are the preparations coming along for the banquet where I officially claim Luna as my goddaughter?"
"Boss, you haven't set a date yet. I need you to confirm the time before I can finalize the arrangements."
"Let's do it this weekend."
The weekend right after the award ceremony would be perfect for a get-together.
"Boss, we should give this intimate banquet a nice name. I had someone draft a few options. Which one do you prefer?"
