She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 199

Still clenching her daughter's ruined scarf, Quinn instantly understood everything. She marched straight toward the center of the living room.

The atmosphere in the living room was incredibly relaxed. Macy was casually scrolling on her tablet, debating with Jade over which designer bag they should order next.

Jade sat with elegant posture, sipping tea, while Leo played with his Legos on the floor nearby.

Quinn's gaze locked onto Leo, her voice trembling with barely suppressed rage.

"Leo, did you go into my room and ruin this scarf?"

Leo looked up with a mix of feigned innocence and pure malice. Being confronted so directly, he instinctively ducked behind his mother.

His voice held the distinct panic of a child caught red-handed, mixed with stubborn denial. "I... I didn't! Stop lying about me!"

"Quinn, what on earth are you doing? You're scaring him."

Jade immediately pulled her son fully behind her back, staring at Quinn with a deeply reproachful glare.

If Macy weren't sitting right there, she wouldn't have bothered putting on this protective-mother act for Quinn.

Macy already despised Quinn. Seeing her supposedly bully her nephew tipped her over the edge.

She slammed her tablet down and shot up from the sofa, her voice exploding with anger.

"Quinn, why are you screaming like a lunatic at Leo?"

"I'm a lunatic? Ha!"

Quinn's face was completely devoid of warmth. "Your precious nephew broke into my room, ransacked my things, and destroyed the scarf I knitted for Luna."

Jade shielded her son, her perfectly manicured eyebrows pulling into a tight frown. "He's just a child. Stop terrifying him. If there's an issue, you can speak to me."

Her eyes swept over the sticky, ruined scarf in Quinn's hand, and a rush of vicious satisfaction surged through her. She spoke with a venomous, syrupy tone.

"It's just a kid getting a little dirty while playing, it's not the end of the world. Do you really need to be so aggressive, Quinn? You're completely overreacting. Tell me how much it costs, and I'll just write you a check."

Her son had willfully destroyed something she had poured her heart into making, yet instead of apologizing, she was accusing Quinn of overreacting?
