"Apologize?"
When exactly did she apologize to her?
Quinn's face blanked for a second before recalling Jade's little performance earlier that day...
No wonder she made sure to say 'so sorry' loud enough for everyone in the living room to hear.
So that was her game...
A trace of mockery flashed across her lips. Jade truly played her cards perfectly.
Miles didn't notice the sarcasm on her face and continued in an indifferent tone.
"This whole thing was a misunderstanding to begin with. Jade apologized to you, and I will have Macy come to Regency Bay to apologize to you as well. Stop obsessing over this. I will make sure you and Yara are adequately compensated, so you should know when to quit while you're ahead."
Was Miles trying to pay her off again?
The tight fists Quinn had held at her sides didn't relax; they only clenched tighter. Her chest was burning with fury.
"Miles, listen to me closely. Your precious childhood sweetheart never apologized to me regarding this incident. From start to finish, she hasn't mentioned a single word about it."
Miles looked up sharply, a flicker of doubt in his eyes. "What? Didn't Jade... apologize to you right in front of Jack?"
A cold sneer surfaced on Quinn's lips. She wasn't surprised by his reaction in the slightest.
He thought she was lying to him again. It was his instinct.
Between her and Jade, he would always choose to believe his childhood friend. Why would he ever take her word for anything?
Miles hated that mocking sound she made. He said in frustration, "Jack can prove it too. Don't deliberately try to smear Jade's image in front of me."
Quinn felt a freezing wind hollow out her chest. She reeled in all the turbulent emotions in her eyes and stripped away every ounce of defensive edge from her voice. Her tone turned dead and icy, devoid of any feeling.
"Then you can ask Jack if she ever specified she was apologizing for framing Yara and me."
Miles's expression was unreadable, but his tone carried a mocking edge.
