The warm, soft body in his arms pressed flush against him, entirely oblivious to a single word he was saying.
Instead of letting go, she only clung tighter.
The soft warmth of her skin, mixed with her signature faint floral scent, enveloped him in a wave of helpless dependency.
Miles's breath hitched, his body going completely rigid. He threw a disdainful glare at the woman in his arms.
His brows locked together sharply. "Quinn, stop moving."
But not only did she refuse to stop, her hands began exploring his chest, desperately searching for more of his soothing coolness.
It wasn't enough. It wasn't nearly enough to douse the fire burning under her skin.
Hunter watched as Ms. Avery tangled herself around his boss, who remained as stiff as a board.
Miles showed zero positive reaction, only glaring and ordering her to stop moving.
Hunter frowned. If he didn't know for a fact that his boss was straight, he would seriously start to wonder if the man hated women entirely.
He leaned in and whispered cautiously, "Boss, Ms. Avery... probably doesn't want to be doing this either. It's the drug."
"Should I... get a room for you two next door?"
Miles shot him a gaze so cold it could freeze over hell. "Shut up!"
Hunter instantly snapped his mouth shut, not daring to say another word. His eyes accidentally drifted to Quinn's deeply flushed face, and his own ears turned red.
Miles glared at him and immediately pulled the suit jacket tighter, covering her up completely.
Hunter quickly averted his eyes, his mouth twitching slightly.
His boss was sitting here acting completely disgusted, yet simultaneously terrified that anyone else might catch a glimpse of Ms. Avery looking this stunning. What a contradictory, volatile man.
"To the hospital!"
"Right away, Mr. York."
Miles bundled Quinn up securely in his jacket, scooped her into his arms, and strode out of the club.
...
Tristan slapped AJ awake and ripped the duct tape off his mouth. AJ gasped, his eyes focusing on the man in front of him.
He grabbed Tristan's shirt. "Tristan! Save Quinn!"
Tristan coldly slapped his hands away. "Mr. York already got her out. They're heading to the hospital."
