She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 290

He yanked his suit jacket over her, wrapping her up tightly so nothing was exposed.

"Mr. York, we're at the hospital."

The moment the car stopped, Miles immediately scooped Quinn into his arms and carried her out.

...

Quinn slept through the entire night. When she finally opened her eyes the next morning, Gail was the first person she saw.

"Gail..."

"Ma'am, you're awake! You must be hungry. Let's get some warm oatmeal in you."

Gail poured a bowl from the thermos she had brought.

"Ma'am, please don't be mad at me. Last night... when I saw Mr. York come home, I couldn't hold it in. I told him you went to find your brother."

Why would Quinn be mad at her? She couldn't be more thankful. If Miles hadn't shown up, she would have been...

The thought made tears prick her eyes. Her voice was weak. "Gail, thank you so much for last night."

Miles, dressed impeccably in a crisp suit, stepped into the room just then. Hunter followed behind with a briefcase, smiling warmly.

"Ms. Avery, you're awake. That was a close call last night. Thank God Mr. York made it in time."

Miles frowned sharply. "Both of you, get out."

Gail set the bowl down, and she and Hunter quickly slipped out of the hospital room.

Miles pulled up a chair and sat down. His expression was cold and distant, as if the man who had been tangled up with her in the backseat last night was a completely different person.

"Do you even remember what happened last night?"

Quinn had no memory of the later events. She only knew he had saved her, and she fully intended to thank him, but right now, all she cared about was her brother.

"My brother... is he okay?"

Miles's face tightened with annoyance when she ignored his question to ask about her useless brother. "He won't die!"

Quinn remembered rushing to The Aurora Club to save AJ, only to be forcefully drowned in liquor. After that, everything was a blur.
