His tone grew deliberately calm. "However, I've decided I will be checking in on her much more often. I can't leave her completely uncared for when she's hurt."

He didn't want to waste any more breath on Miles. "If you want Grandma Evelyn to be happy at her eightieth birthday gala, then stop bullying Quinn."

Once Gail stepped out of the room, Quinn immediately called Gabe Hudson. Hearing that Skylar was safe, she let out a long sigh of relief.
