Quinn had just closed her eyes. Her voice was laced with exhaustion. "Miles, whatever it is, can it wait until tomorrow? I'm tired and just want to sleep."
Miles glanced at his watch. It was barely past nine, and she was already tired?
Wasn't she full of energy today, running around and avoiding him with that little girl?
His voice dropped to a low, commanding register. "Quinn, those dresses in the living room are for you to wear to the banquet tomorrow night. Are you not even going to try them on?"
Remembering what Gail had said earlier, Quinn let out a cold, internal scoff.
He wanted her to try on Jade's leftovers?
She parted her lips, her tone entirely detached. "No. I'm not interested."
Miles's brows knitted together. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Exactly what it sounds like."
Bang, bang! "Come out here and explain yourself."
Miles hammered on the door, acting as though he would deny her sleep until she submitted.
Annoyed beyond measure by the racket, Quinn slid into her slippers and yanked the door open, glaring fiercely at the overbearing man before her.
"Are you done, Miles? It's the middle of the night. If you don't want to sleep, must you drag everyone else down with you?"
Seeing her glare, he raised his chin with arrogant entitlement. "I asked you to come out and try on a dress. Why are you throwing a tantrum?"
Disgust colored Quinn's response. "Didn't your precious childhood sweetheart already try on all the dresses? Why don't you just take her to the banquet tomorrow? Wouldn't that be perfect?"
Miles's expression instantly turned as black as ink, his dark eyes swirling with suppressed fury.

I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
