After having dinner with the kids, Quinn gathered the dishes and took them to the sink. Glancing out the balcony window, she spotted a very familiar luxury car.
She froze, dropping her fork into the sink with a clatter.
Wait... isn't that Miles's black Bentley? Why is he here?
Her phone buzzed. Seeing Miles's name on the screen, she forced herself to calm down, dried her hands, and answered.
"Quinn, I'm downstairs at Fairview Apartments. Come down. We need to talk."
Quinn knew exactly what this was about. To prevent him from barging upstairs and terrifying the kids, she didn't refuse.
"Give me ten minutes. I'll meet you at that park."
Miles had been to that park with Hunter before—it was the exact spot where he had caught her trying to sell Luna's smartwatch.
He naturally knew where she meant.
"Fine."
Quinn didn't relax until she saw his car pull away.
She quickly walked out and told Yara, "Miles wants to talk at the park across the street. I'm going to head down, just to make sure he and Hunter don't come up here looking for trouble."
Yara looked worried. "Do you want me to go with you? I'm worried you'll be at a disadvantage alone. If he came all the way out here for his childhood sweetheart's brother, he's definitely going to try and force your hand."
"It's fine. If anything happens, I'll call you."
"Mommy, are you going out?"
"I'm just taking out the trash, Caleb. I'll be right back."
"Okay."

I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
