Noticing her confused expression, Gail walked over with a warm smile and whispered, "Ms. Avery, Mr. York said Luna and her little cousin are coming to stay, so he asked us to set up a nursery on the second floor."

"She's coming to an unfamiliar place. Without me by her side, she won't be able to sleep peacefully."

Miles replied, "Then you can move up to the master bedroom on the second floor, or bring Luna and Caleb to sleep in my king-sized bed."

At this point, he remembered his earlier resolution. Sensing his tone might have slipped back into the arrogance Hunter had warned him about, he softened his expression.

"What I mean is, I'm setting up a nursery for Luna so she and her cousin can have a bigger, more comfortable room to sleep in."

Seeing him adjust his tone and actually explain himself, a flicker of surprise flashed across Quinn's face. It was completely unexpected for Miles to speak to her as an equal.
