Quinn answered with silence, her attitude clearly saying, *That's exactly the kind of person you are!*
This infuriated him even more. "Then listen closely. I won't force them to stay here, and I won't force them to agree to anything.
I'm decorating this room simply to show they are welcome at Regency Bay anytime. Does that answer satisfy you?"
With that, he took his tablet and strode away on his long legs, looking as though he were swallowing a stomach full of rage.
Hearing his promise, Quinn finally felt a wave of relief.
As long as he didn't demand her precious babies acknowledge him as their godfather, it was fine.
He could say whatever he wanted.
Perhaps he wasn't putting all this effort in for Luna at all. It was highly likely this was actually for Leo, his son with Jade.
It wasn't that she was being overly cynical; things like this had happened before.
Previously, he had claimed a children's castle was built for Luna. In the end, Luna had to hear from Leo that the castle was built by *his* father, that she wasn't allowed to play with it, and she had even been called a wild child.
Only Quinn knew just how heartbroken Luna had been.
...
By noon, Miles was still at Regency Bay. Hunter arrived carrying a briefcase, handing him urgent documents that required immediate signature.
"Mr. York, this is The Winter-York Partnership Addendum proposing additional equity clauses."
Miles's brow lowered. On one hand was the bottom line of their business partnership; on the other was the heavy debt he owed Jade for saving Macy from the falling billboard, a sacrifice that had left a scar on her back.
Hunter stood nearby, his tone laced with concern. "Mr. York, the Winter Group's demands are a bit excessive this time. The original terms were already finalized. Pushing for these additional clauses right now makes it seem like they are exploiting Assistant Winter's injury to secure a profit."
The study fell silent for a few seconds. Miles's deep voice was flat, betraying no emotion.
"It's what she deserves."
Seeing him sign the document, Hunter realized his warning had been unnecessary.

I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
