Following her gaze, Assistant Reed asked softly, "Jade, did you spot someone you know?"
"N-no."
"You know, Mr. York treats you so wonderfully. He takes you with him wherever he goes."
Assistant Reed was constantly kissing up to her, hoping to use Jade's connections to get closer to the executive assistant, Hunter.
In her mind, a man as elite as Miles was only suited for a wealthy heiress like Jade. She was better off setting her sights on Hunter.
About half an hour later, Quinn finished her translation negotiations and stepped out of the elevator with the middle-aged client.
Suddenly, a disheveled woman stormed toward them, pointing a trembling finger right at Quinn's face.
"So you're the tramp who's been sleeping with my husband!"
The woman lunged forward, aiming to grab Quinn's hair, screaming insults that echoed loudly across the lobby.
"You filthy homewrecker! Tearing apart someone else's family—how disgusting can you be? I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget!"
The middle-aged client scrambled to block his hysterical wife, his face flushed with panic and embarrassment as he hissed,
"What the hell are you talking about?"
In the busy lobby, heads turned instantly. Crowds formed, pointing and whispering as they stared at Quinn and the man.
Quinn stood her ground, her posture straight and her expression completely unfazed.
She hadn't slept with anyone's husband. She had nothing to hide, and the woman's screeching did nothing to rattle her.
Her eyes were calm and clear, completely devoid of guilt or panic as her cool voice cut through the noise.
"Ma'am, my relationship with your husband is strictly professional. I suggest you watch your mouth. If you continue throwing around malicious accusations, I will sue you for defamation."
The man, Timothy Thorne, was mortified by the growing crowd. He turned to Quinn, desperately trying to do damage control.
