She Walked Away With His Twins, While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 62

Quinn watched his retreating figure, the bustling noise of the lobby fading into a distant hum.

It took her a long moment to find her voice. "Grandma... is in the ER?"

Evelyn York was the only person in the York family who had ever been kind to her. Now that she was fighting for her life in the hospital, should she go check on her?

While she was still tearing herself apart with indecision, Judith York called her, her tone tightly suppressing her fury.

But it was a call she was forced to make. "Quinn, come to the hospital too. Don't you dare say a word out of line later. Just play the part you always play."

Quinn grabbed her ID documents, told the clerk she would return tomorrow, and prepared to head to the hospital.

By the time Miles arrived, Grandma Evelyn had been moved out of the ICU and transferred to a VIP suite.

"How is Grandma?"

Judith pulled him aside and whispered, "Son, your grandmother is stable for now... but somehow, she found out that you and Quinn ended the contract marriage. The shock made her collapse."

"When you go in there, just humor her for now. The doctor says she can't take any more shocks. Wait until she recovers before you finalize the divorce with Quinn."

Miles's dark eyes narrowed into dangerous slits, as murky as the night sky. Who had leaked this to his grandmother?

His first thought instantly went to Quinn.

Quinn arrived in a frantic rush half an hour later. The moment she stepped into the hallway, she was met with Judith's freezing glare.

Judith marched up to her, her voice dripping with accusation and interrogation.

"Did you leak it to her? Did you tell her that you and Miles ended the contract early?"

Quinn froze in her tracks, her eyes darkening. "Mrs. York, I didn't say a word to Grandma. How is she doing?"

Judith pressed harder. "If it wasn't you, then who was it? You're the one who caused her to collapse from the shock."

Quinn, blocked from moving forward, let her voice drop to an icy chill.

"No, I didn't. I haven't spoken to Grandma in days. Whenever she asked me to visit the old estate, I found an excuse not to go. Why would I tell her about this?"
