She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 614

Loyce wore a sleek black coat, her hair elegantly pinned up. Adorned with minimalist pearl earrings and a striking diamond brooch resting on her lapel, she radiated an aura of absolute luxury and power.

Her commanding presence was so overwhelming that the few remaining employees in the Sampsons' small office only dared to steal glances from the corners of their eyes. Everyone was stunned to realize that seeing her transformation on television didn't even come close to the real thing.

The Sampson family was equally paralyzed with shock.

The woman standing before them was the very picture of high-society royalty.

For a moment, complex emotions swirled in everyone's chests.

Byron was the first to react, his voice trembling with emotion. "Loyce! So you were SaintHealer all along, and you're the anonymous investor keeping us afloat! You really couldn't let us go, could you? You still care about us!"

Loyce remained entirely unmoved by their desperate hope and enthusiasm. Her tone was ice. "I kept you around solely because the Sampson family is a useful tool."

The hopeful smile on Byron's face vanished instantly. "Right... I suppose we severed ties a long time ago."

Tears welled up in Adele's eyes, and she immediately launched into a pity party. "Loyce, while you were gone, your mother has done so much soul-searching. I've been in so much agony. My legs hurt so terribly... look, the joints are practically deforming from the pain."

"I am here strictly on business. If anyone brings up personal grievances or anything unrelated to business again..." Loyce paused, her cold gaze sweeping across the room. "I will withdraw my capital immediately and find someone else to do the job."

Everyone knew full well that without the anonymous funds she had pumped into the company, this family wouldn't even have a roof over their heads.

They had all experienced Loyce's ruthlessness firsthand. Adele immediately choked back her sobs, staring at her with a mix of deep resentment and visceral fear.

Marshall lowered his head subserviently. "What do you need us to do?"

Loyce took the seat at the head of the table. "First, as the majority shareholder of Sampson Group, our relationship is strictly superior and subordinate. Second, whatever task I assign you must be executed flawlessly. If you refuse, I will pull my funding on the spot and let the last shreds of the Sampson family turn to dust."

She had drawn an absolute boundary, and the Sampsons had no choice but to accept it.

Byron lowered his voice. "Understood. What do you need us for?"

Loyce slid a sleek file folder across the table toward him. "This is a bidding strategy for the commercial plots surrounding the new Belfry landmark. Your target is plots A7 and A8."

Loyce gave a curt nod. She stood up, casually adjusting the collar of her coat. "Follow my instructions perfectly, and the Sampsons will get a cut of the profits to survive on. But if you even think about betraying me..."

She paused, a faint, chilling smile touching her lips. "That's fine too. I have plenty of ways to ensure you all end up sleeping on the streets."

It was a blatant, unvarnished threat. A cold shiver ran down their spines. It felt as though they were staring down a panther baring its fangs.

Adele, lacking all self-awareness, called out just as Loyce was leaving. "Daughter! I mean—Ms. Lonsdale, it's been so long since we last saw each other. It's getting late, surely there's time for us to grab a quick dinner?"

Loyce glanced back at her. "Dinner?"

Marshall quickly chimed in with a serious tone. "She's right, it's getting late. How about we head over to Crown Dining for a casual meal? There are a few logistical details about the plan I'd love to clarify with you."

Loyce stared at them in silence for a long time. Just when the family thought she would reject them, she finally agreed. "Fine. I'll see you there."

After she left, the family gathered around the conference table, staring at the file in front of them. Hamilton, who had been silent the entire time, finally spoke. "Are we really going to do exactly what she says? We'll be making a direct enemy out of Macrostar."
