She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 650

Sagan and his wife rushed to her side, their faces lighting up with relief. "Sweetheart, are you feeling better?"

Ayla ignored her mother and stared directly at Sagan. "Are you going to help the bad people who tried to kill Saba?"

Sagan froze. He knew she had heard everything. She was young, but she knew right from wrong.

Seeing her father hesitate, Ayla knew it was true. He was really going to help the billionaires walk free.

Her eyes filled with profound disappointment. "Dad... aren't you an animal protector? You protect the animals at Ruby Oasis Resort. Why is the Klein Reserve any different?"

Sagan was speechless, his face pale as he stammered, "Ayla, I don't have a choice. I have to protect you."

Ayla fell silent for a moment, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I should have just died in that room. Then you wouldn't have an excuse to help the bad guys hurt more animals."

Tears spilled down her cheeks, her voice breaking. "And that lady... if she hadn't dragged me into the warehouse and stopped the bleeding, I would be dead. I owe her my life..."

Sagan felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest. Looking into his daughter’s tear-filled, devastated eyes, he realized that if he went through with this lie, he would lose her forever.

"I didn't know what else to do," Sagan sobbed, burying his face in the edge of her mattress.

Just then, a nurse walked in to change Ayla's dressings. Sagan wiped his face and stepped out into the hallway to collect himself. As he walked toward the stairwell, a tall, imposing figure stepped out of the shadows.

The man wore a flawlessly tailored suit, his deep, calculating gaze locking onto Sagan as he smoothly stated his name, "Sagan."

Sagan looked at him cautiously. "Who are you?"

The man handed him a sleek business card.

Sagan’s hands trembled as he read the title. "Head of Stellar Trust... Lucian... Shapiro?"

Back at the detention center.

Loyce’s lawyer finally arrived. It was Larry, the legendary attorney who headed one of the most prestigious law firms in the world, boasting a flawless win record.

Larry approached the booking desk, holding two garment bags containing the rushed, custom-tailored outfits. He looked at the guards. "My clients have not been convicted of a crime. They have the constitutional right to attend their trial in their own clothing, not prison uniforms."
