She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 905

Ending the call, Hank turned to his assistant.

"Track Giselle's location right now."

Less than three minutes later, he had his answer.

"Ms. Turner just bought two VIP tickets to Joyland Amusement Park. She's taking her daughter."

Trying to make up for her getting bullied, trying to make her smile...

"Make the arrangements," Hank ordered, his voice low. "The mascots, the interactive games, the prize booths—everything that can make a little girl happy, set it up for her. But be completely discreet. Don't let her mom suspect it's staged."

"Understood. Will you be heading over, sir?"

Hank hesitated for two seconds.

"I'm going."

His sleek car pulled into the underground parking garage of Joyland. He stepped out and took the elevator up.

When the doors opened, a staff member wearing a massive pink bunny head was already waiting for him.

The bunny, a good half-head taller than him, stood alongside seven or eight other employees in various vibrant mascot costumes, looking like a cartoon come to life.

"Mr. Lonsdale." The pink bunny bowed slightly, his voice muffled by the plush headpiece. "Everything is set. Gigi is currently at the carousel. Our people are already shadowing them. We'll send the mascots over in waves to interact with her, and we've rigged the prize booths so she wins all the toys little girls love."

Hank nodded, eyeing the colorful, fluffy suits. "These character IPs are the reason this park's valuation skyrocketed?"

The bunny nodded. "Kids and adults love them. Getting a close-up interaction makes them feel like they're living a fairy tale."

"Close-up interaction?" Hank murmured.

If he put one of those on, he could walk right up to his family in broad daylight.

"Sir..." the bunny hesitated, sensing his train of thought. "Would you... like to try a suit on?"

Hank just looked at him.

"Of course, if that's too inconvenient—"

"Give me one."

The bunny blinked behind his mesh eyeholes, then quickly turned around and pulled a neatly folded costume from a duffel bag. It was a giant brown bear with a round, goofy face, a dopey smile, and a massive bow tie over its plush stomach.

Hank stared at the bear, his lips twitching faintly.

"This one."

He took the suit and stepped into the staff locker room.
