She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 907

Loyce instantly jumped up and grabbed Emma's arms, stopping her. Frowning slightly, she said, "Please, let's talk this out. Is Hank pressuring Giselle again?"

"Not exactly," Emma said, letting Loyce guide her back onto the sofa, her face etched with distress. "I just... I want Giselle to start meeting new people. She shouldn't be trapped in limbo by Mr. Lonsdale forever. She deserves to find her own happiness and a real home, don't you think?"

Loyce asked gently, "Is this what Giselle wants?"

"It's mostly about my granddaughter." Emma sighed. "She's grown up without a father. That missing piece in her family makes her a target for bullies at school. She's so sweet and mature; even when she's hurting, she swallows it and says nothing. As her grandmother, watching her go through that is tearing my heart apart."

Loyce fell silent for a moment, then felt obligated to defend her brother-in-law. "Ever since Giselle left, Hank has been in a state of profound reflection and regret. He hasn't looked at another woman in two years. He's just waiting for her. He really is trying to become a better man."

"But Giselle has suffered too much," Emma said, tears springing to her eyes. "You have no idea how hard it is to raise a child alone. Our family doesn't want massive wealth or power. All her father and I ever wanted was for her to be happy. Loyce, surely you can understand that?"

Loyce did understand. She knew Emma had completely lost all trust in Hank. No mother could stand by and watch her daughter be broken.

But she also couldn't shut the door on her own family. She wanted to give Hank a chance.

She chose her words carefully. "I will make sure Hank doesn't interfere if Giselle decides to date. If she truly falls in love with someone else, the Lonsdale family will offer our blessings. I promise you, Hank will not destroy her happiness."

Emma immediately thanked her profusely. "That's all I ask. Thank you."

Armed with Loyce's guarantee, Emma went home that night and compiled a list of elite, highly eligible bachelors.

Most of them were in the medical field—promising young doctors and researchers who had visited to study the Frost Peppermint cultivation methods. All of them were highly educated, exceptionally good-looking, and came from solid backgrounds.

When she laid the photos out on the table in front of Giselle, her daughter just stared at them in disbelief.

"Mom, these guys are young, brilliant, and wealthy. Why on earth would you try to set them up with me?"

"And what's wrong with you?" Emma shot back. "You're smart, beautiful, and successful."

Giselle let out a tired laugh. "Mom, I had a child out of wedlock. You can't just look at how great the guys are. You have to consider whether their families would ever accept me."

"Why would they choose a single mother over a young, single woman with zero baggage?"

Emma adamantly refused to let her daughter put herself down. "Let me tell you something, Giselle Turner. What is wrong with being a single mother? Having Gigi is a badge of honor. She deserves a great dad, and you deserve an amazing husband. Do you hear me?"

Giselle's eyes grew a little misty, though she couldn't help but smile. "Did you even ask any of these guys if they're interested before printing out their headshots?"
