She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 910

The field went dead silent.

More and more parents turned to watch the spectacle. Some looked sympathetic, others disgusted, but the vast majority were just watching the drama unfold like a free show.

At some point, Gigi had noticed the commotion and run back from her classmates. Hearing Dario's cruel words, her eyes turned bright red. She threw herself in front of Giselle, spreading her little arms wide to shield her. "Don't you be mean to my mommy! You're bad people!"

She wasn't crying, but her tiny frame was trembling with rage and fear.

Giselle immediately pulled her daughter into her arms. Just as she was about to snap back, a large, elegant hand rested heavily on her shoulder.

"What are we talking about here? Seems lively."

Hank's low, chilling voice drifted from just behind Giselle. He sounded almost bored. "Friends of yours?"

Giselle's shoulders stiffened slightly, and she glanced back at him.

The hand on her shoulder didn't move away; if anything, his grip tightened protectively.

Miranda didn't recognize Hank, but her venomous eyes immediately swept him up and down, doing the math on his custom-tailored suit and the multi-million-dollar watch on his wrist.

This man was clearly someone powerful.

Dario, however, had much sharper corporate instincts. The second he saw Hank's face, his brain short-circuited. There was absolutely no way he could mistake a man of that caliber!

Seeing the way Hank was holding Giselle, a loud ringing filled Dario's ears. Only one thought echoed in his mind: I'm dead.

His arrogant, sneering expression vanished in a millisecond. His posture crumpled, practically folding in half as he bowed deeply. The muscles in his face spasmed violently as he tried to force a smile, but it looked more like a grimace of pure terror.

"M-Mr. Lonsdale!" Dario stammered, his entire body shaking. He rubbed his hands together nervously like a begging dog. "W-what brings you to the school today? W-what a... what a coincidence..."

Feeling the terrifying weight of Hank's gaze, the hairs on Miranda's arms stood up. She instinctively shrank behind her husband, whispering, "Who is that?"

Dario ignored her, his teeth practically chattering. "Mr. Lonsdale, do you... do you know Ms. Turner?"

Hank bent down and gently stroked Gigi's hair. "Don't be angry, sweetheart," he murmured softly. "I'll take care of the people bullying you and your mommy."

Gigi nodded, her eyes still red.

Hank then straightened up and looked at Dario, a lethal, ice-cold smile curving his lips. "Of course I know her. Ms. Turner is a benefactor to the entire Lonsdale family. Her mother personally saved Lucian Shapiro's life."

Dario's legs gave out, and he nearly collapsed. "B-benefactor?!"

He had never heard this! His idiot wife had sworn she was just some nobody single mom who got knocked up abroad and dumped!

"Anyone who disrespects her," Hank said, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper, "disrespects me."
